There are some reactors that bring some infinitesmal value with an actual unique thought-out perspective I'm sure but honestly I've come to the point where any person that makes a living on reacting to internet or politcs-related dramas is getting cut out of my viewing sphere. Watching that kind of content will rot your brain of understanding and civilization, it's not better than watching 24-hour news channels, no matter who it is or what beliefs they have. Sad that we live in a world where so many can make a living just being repeaters of popular belief paradigms, but that's how things are I guess.

The worst he's done is have Quinton Reviews in a cameo and dropping a guy because his ex said he was an asshole. He works hard and doesn't really use his channel as a soapbox.

I wouldn’t say terrible, tad derivative of tumblr but It’s always the same cutesy girl with no background. thing is is that when you start become a better digital artist and improve your style she almost seems like an amateur, preaching how to design characters and anatomy while having alot going on with her characters.

If I didn't know any better, I would say Scott the Woz is an industry plant. He showed up out of nowhere, always had stacks of video games and peripherals, got huge, makes critical content but not critical enough to cause a stir, and he got scooped up by G4 when that revival bullshit was happening. The only evidence to the contrary is the way he does have a legitimate history of making loads of videos with his friends for fun when he was still a kid, and still includes those same friends in his videos, so I can give him the benefit of the doubt as that seems too organic of a backstory to be some kind of setup.

I believe Scott was probably a upper/upper-middle class only child that was given all the camera equipment and video games he ever wanted. As a kid that was probably born sometime after Youtube was created, I imagine he probably grew up watching gaming Youtubers. Because he had a cushy life, he had no other responsibilities, so he made YouTube videos all day in the style of the Youtubers he watched with the things afforded to him by his easy upbringing and the knowledge that he would never have to work if he didn't want to. It's easy to grow a channel when you don't need to pay for anything as you're a literal child with well off parents. I read that he claims he was working a job before he started his Youtube channel, which is how he was able to pay for things, but he seemed too young at the time to have any kind of part time job if you ask me, outside of possibly some family business that hired him out of nepotism that paid him under the table. Not to mention, the amount of things he was able to afford on the pay from a part time job at a grocery store. I think when he became an adult that could have more agency over his career, he started blowing up even more which gave him the perception of coming out of nowhere.

Idk, from what I vaguely recall he claims to not have been a super big gamer as kid, mostly playing shitty licenced games.
Maybe its exactly because the gaming obsession came later that he got so autistically into it and immediately grew a huge collection?
Looking it up he is an only child, tho he generally seems pretty good at keeping his personal life private. He doesn't do sponsorships either so he's only getting adrev, so he's probably always been pretty comfortable by at least Ohio standards.

Anyways, I think a big part of his success is that his videos are clean and very uniform, with subjects that are often juuuust specific and original enough to be interesting but broad enough to be reletable, that are usually a healthy 10-20 minutes long with a lot of editing (for those shit attention spans), served by someone with a decent presentation voice who looks like a normal zoomerlennial nerdy guy and seems nice and sociable (so approachable for most people into games but not fat, grimey or weird in a way that would scare off casuals).
Scrolling trough his channel, his thumbnails have literally had the exact same style and format since the oldest vids on there from 7 years ago, so I think part of it is just finding a strong formula and then sticking to it. Even his glasses, haircut and range of outfits never change.

I think he has admitted he keeps track of trends before and that he maybe majored in marketing, so if true it makes sense he's good at brand-building.

Also I think he really blew up in 2020-2021, so during lockdown when many zoomers had insane amounts of screentime, makes sense zoomerlennial with many vids focused on zoomer nostalgia would do very well.

One thing I give Scott props for is that I don't recall ever hearing anything about politics or even complaining about anything in a way that isnt comedic, while many other channels that do zoomer media retrospectives cant help but whine about something from 2006 having been made with the sensibilities of 2006 in mind.
On that topic I don't like Quinton reviews, no shit a Dan Schneider sitcom from 20 years ago hasn't aged well you dont need to keep reminding us.

Also LavenderTowne has been on the exact same grind for so long that shes been a go-to copycat style for 12 year old beginner artists for like a full decade now.
