In a heartbreaking update on Wendy Williams’ health, new court documents have revealed the tragic extent of her condition.

According to legal filings from her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, the former talk show host is now considered “permanently incapacitated” due to the effects of dementia.

These documents offer the most detailed look yet into Wendy Williams' ongoing battle with the disease.

New Documents Reveal Wendy Williams' Current Health Condition

The heartbreaking revelation comes as Williams continues to fight frontotemporal dementia and primary progressive aphasia, both of which have severely affected her cognitive abilities. The new court filing, obtained by The US Sun, was presented in a New York courtroom and sheds light on the devastating impact of her condition.

According to Morrissey’s attorneys, Williams, once a towering figure in daytime television, is now struggling with a loss of cognitive function that has left her "permanently incapacitated."

The filing further reads, “In January 2022, after becoming aware of a pattern of disturbing events concerning [Wendy's] welfare and finances, Wells Fargo took the highly unusual step of initiating a guardianship proceeding on its own initiative in the Supreme Court of New York, New York County (the 'Guardianship Proceeding'), to seek the court appointment of an independent guardian for [Wendy's] financial affairs."

In the legal documents, Williams is described as “an acclaimed entertainer who, tragically, has been afflicted by early-onset dementia.” This confirmation of her diagnosis adds to what has been a difficult and uncertain period for the beloved TV personality. The filing also comes amid ongoing legal battles between Morrissey and Lifetime over the network's documentary "Where is Wendy Williams?"

For some time now, fans and media alike have been speculating about Williams' health. However, hearing the grim details in a formal legal document is a stark reminder of the severity of her situation. To hear the phrase “permanently incapacitated” on the record is undeniably heartbreaking for those who have followed her career for decades.

Wendy Williams has long been a fixture in American television, beloved for her candid, no-holds-barred approach on "The Wendy Williams Show" As she battles these cognitive challenges, the world watches with empathy and sorrow, hoping for some semblance of peace and comfort for the TV icon in her difficult journey.

Morrissey's legal team requested that the court redact specific sections of the case concerning Williams' “health, familial relationships, and finances” to safeguard her privacy. The document states, “We respectfully request that the Court grant Plaintiff’s motion for limited redactions to protect non-public information from the Guardianship Proceeding that has been placed under seal by the court overseeing that proceeding.”

Wendy Williams, the former host of "The Wendy Williams Show," was placed under guardianship in 2022 after being diagnosed with alcohol-related brain damage, a condition that was revealed during a rehab stay in Delray Beach, Florida, in 2019.

At the time, a neurologist delivered the devastating news to Williams, her son Kevin Hunter Jr., and her then-husband Kevin Hunter Sr. During one of her rare public appearances in 2021, Williams was photographed using a wheelchair. A source close to the situation explained, “The doctor explained to them that Wendy was suffering from alcohol-related brain damage. They told her that her alcohol abuse had done permanent damage to the layers in her brain.”

In a statement to The US Sun, Williams' guardian addressed her ongoing health challenges, noting, “As Wendy’s fans are aware, in the past she has been open with the public about her medical struggles with Graves’ Disease and Lymphedema as well as other significant challenges related to her health.”

In April, Wendy Williams was seen in public for the first time since her private legal and medical struggles became known earlier this year. This marked her first public appearance since her team announced in a February press release that she had been diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia.

Shortly after, her deteriorating health was featured in the documentary "Where Is Wendy Williams?"

The docuseries chronicles Wendy Williams' battle with her health, culminating in her admission to a treatment facility. Throughout the series, her family discusses her dementia diagnosis and advocates for changes to the guardianship that was established in 2022.

She or "she" has always set off my lizardperson alarm, especially when she fainted on stage. What they're doing to her now though feels like a humiliation ritual, using these shocking photos.

I don't really watch celebrity gossip, but I do remember Wendy actually being quite funny.

I especially give her props for being a black woman comedian who rarely played into race politics/grievance humor. She usually kept politics out of her show, even during the Trump years.

Hope she has someone genuinely looking out for her.

Huh, let’s see what’s on her Wikipedia page:
In February 2018, Williams disclosed that she has Graves' disease which causes hyperthyroidism,[141] conditions she had been diagnosed with nearly two decades prior.
That’s interesting…
Graves' disease, also known as toxic diffuse goiter or Basedow’s disease, is an autoimmune disease that affects the thyroid. […] Other symptoms may include thickening of the skin on the shins, known as pretibial myxedema, and eye bulging, a condition caused by Graves' ophthalmopathy.[1] About 25 to 30% of people with the condition develop eye problems.[1][4]
Hmmm….
The exact cause is unclear, but it is believed to involve a combination of genetic and environmental factors. […] Since Graves disease is an autoimmune disease that appears suddenly, often later in life, a viral or bacterial infection may trigger antibodies, which cross-react with the human TSH receptor, a phenomenon known as antigenic mimicry.[13]
The bacterium Yersinia enterocolitica bears structural similarity with the human thyrotropin receptor[11] and was hypothesized to contribute to the development of thyroid autoimmunity arising for other reasons in genetically susceptible individuals.[14
Epstein–Barr virus is another potential trigger
HMMMMMMMMM………

Shit joke aside, she was a coke head addict shock jock with a history of genetic defects and miscarriages. It’s not some grand conspiracy that she’s fallen tragically ill, nor is it even a condemnation of her situation. Sounds like she led a pretty shitty life and is suffering through a rough end.

“The doctor explained to them that Wendy was suffering from alcohol-related brain damage. They told her that her alcohol abuse had done permanent damage to the layers in her brain.”
Rackets' future?

I bet she was on The View, wasn't she?
Nope! She had her own trashy talk show that was actually pretty fun, as long as you don't hate mindless celebrity gossip. I think she was a radio DJ/host before that. A lot of what she'd say would get her mega-canceled these days.

Williams is an alcoholic. She has what's commonly called Wet Brain Syndrome, although they don't use the term in the article because it comes across as insensitive. It's essentially progressive brain trauma. As with ordinary dementia, she'll lose her cognitive faculties to the point she reaches a vegetative state. Then her organs degrade and fail, and then she dies.
I'd like to add that Wet Brain Syndrome is not just for alcoholics any more. Chronic marijuana use caused the same symptoms in my father. Over time, the constant cycle of brain inflammation/reduction in swelling/inflammation caused my father's brain to become visibly atrophied on an MRI, and the results were indistinguishable from that of a severe alcoholic. Fortunately he died of cancer before the dementia could set in.

Who is this person? I didn't recognize the name and I even looked at a picture and I still have no idea. No I am not reading the article about some nobody having dimentia. Biden has had dimentia for years and nobody cared until recently.

I bet she was on The View, wasn't she? Some nobody black lady nobody cares about. This tracks.
To be fair, Wendy Williams has been a hate-watch for a lot of people. She was a talk show host, but she wasn't very endearing in her behavior and treatment towards others as that was part of what made people watch Wendy. WW was basically a ratchet Oprah Winfrey, only without any charm or any of the genuineness that made people receptive towards Oprah. WW came late in the talkshow game and would do dramatic shit like disclosing people's private health problems and relationship woes as a way of creating controversy and thus publicity.
Yet, nobody deserves dementia, especially early-onset. It's hard not to feel for that person suffering through that.

Going to try to not powerlevel here too much but I worked with patients with dementia for many years. It is, in my opinion, one of the worst things that can happen to a human being. The indignities, the physical and mental pain, the slow loss of one's self, all of it combines into a nightmare that only ends in a miserable prolonged death. I and every single person I worked with came to the same conclusion of "fuck this, if I get diagnosed I'm killing myself". I don't know much about this lady but may God have mercy on her soul and grant her family peace.

Drank herself retarded. Quite a coincidence that this was found right back around when her managing team was widely suspected of rampant embezzlement.

There's been so much smoke and mirrors around her condition, but anyone who's followed her knows that this is end stage alcoholism, she's been a handle-a-day girl for decades now. Very sad, I never had anything against her, she played the role of "crazy radio/TV host lady" very well. (Plus, she was the only talking head type who correctly called Beyonce on faking her first pregnancy.)

This is pretty much it. I just want to add that she seemed to be universally hated on numerous subreddits and not for bad reasons. I went over them here.

What I'm getting at is that no one should feel bad for this utter bitch of a human being.

Fuck - seriously? Like there's just some fucking 12 year old out there with straight up dementia? How the fuck does that even work, you don't have the old memories to go back to.
It's called pediatric dementia. Usually occurs due to rare genetic diseases I am too retarded to spell let alone pronounce. There's also an autism-like disorder called rett syndrome that functions a bit like dementia. The kid starts out seeming autistic and regresses as they get older. The kids cursed with dementia and rett tend to be fully aware of their regression.

Fuck Wendy Williams. Alot of Black Boomer Women watch her daytime show and she's just a shit stirrer. I could not fucking stand her. She was also known for defending rappers who were either assaulters or abusive.

This is related to diddy's parties.
She's drugged to keep her shut, she has dirt on him.
This rabbit hole goes deep, her fans speculate she was poisoned(her losing consciousness on live TV), her food or tea(which she was always drinking during show) was tampered, etc.
It's all very sus.
