I am so fucking happy right now. I fell a sleep for a bit and when I woke up to the news it felt like 2016 all over again. Today at work should be a fun and happy day amongst the as mad liberals I work with.

One thing in particular I wanted to write here is that I get the sense there is almost zero accountability in US politics. Both of these candidates have made huge, bold claims (lies) about what they're going to achieve in the next 4 years and I am certain that whoever wins they won't achieve barely fuck all of what they claimed they would. I have seen this be a common thing in most democracies too, not just the USA, that is for certain.

I am old enough to remember watching Nixon's resignation on an old cathode ray tube. And I can say without hesitation, that Donald Trump delivered on more of his promises in his first term than any other President in my lifetime, including Reagan. I expect the same again, especially with a friendly Congress and all his new friends on his team. I never would have believed it either in 2015, and absolutely didn't. But by 2017, I realized that he was for real.
