Because the Democrats run on 8th year old on the playground logic. Rules are only important when it they win by them, at which point they become iron clad covenants from god himself that can never be broken. If they would lose based on rules, then you simply don't understand the super secret exception to the rules that was never mentioned before but would let them win.
Remember, the founding fathers could have never envisioned a time in which the American people might have voted against
If the Democrats would win via the EC, then the EC is ordained by god and it should be a sin against power to object to it.
If the Democrats would lose via the EC, then the EC is an outdated relic by bigoted 17th century assholes specifically created to keep niggers trannies and whores down, or whatever token works best to make you flinch while the Democrats try and flip the table out from under you.
They have no morals except power. What gets them power is good. What costs them power is evil. Once you recognize this simple fact about them, you realize there is objectively no action you can take against them that is a moral wrong.

In a two-party system, politics naturally finds a center, unless the ruling party can consistently cheat to stay in power. What we can say is that nothing resembling "conservatism" will ever have a hold in American politics again, because there just won't be enough people here who have roots in pre-Great Replacement America.
