Vance could be a decent politician to his credit if he didn't tie himself to Trump since everytime he tried to defend Daddy, he just kept shooting himself in the foot.

I think he's too much of a classic lizard-man career politician to play well with voters that are used to Trump. It'd be like the Dems trying to run Newsom. He'll do great in the cabinet for whoever the real successor is though

I had a good laugh when he said something to the effect of "if the experts are always right, why did economists say for the last 40 years that if you want cheaper goods, get them from China?" as if it was a Gotcha moment.

You're totally right. Most of those looney tunes have been locked up at this point, so the threat is mostly neutralized. All that hasn't been done is prosecuting trump for his involvement, but that's not something to campaign on.

Walz really held himself back from delving into the same attacks we saw at the last two presidential debates. A few flubs here and there but it honestly felt like a pre-2016 debate, neither Walz nor Vance want to see each other dead as fiercely as Trump, Hillary, Joe or Kamala.
People say Vance had more of an edge solely because he was more aggressive than Walz during the whole thing. Walz kept trying to find common ground and kumbaya with Vance, verbally appealing to his humanity with saying like "I'm sure Senator Vance also finds this abhorrent", while Vance did absolutely none of that for him.
The portion where Vance seethed about getting fact-checked was pretty funny though, Trump and his ilk can only really thrive in an environment where they're allowed to lie loudly and assert falsehoods without any pushback. Trump's absolute safe haven is his rallies, which is why this thread and the news are full of clips of the dumb shit he says while in that hugbox.
Nothing is going to move the needle at this point. Trump could make the whole 5th Avenue quote literal tomorrow and the percentages would not be changed. All that matters now is turnout.

Debates for the last couple decades are more about one side seeing if their guy can kick the other guy’s ass. It hasn’t been a very effective tool in convincing people, especially VP debates. At this point it comes down to ground game and how effective they are in getting their side to vote. At this stage in the game, I suspect there’s maybe only a few million who haven’t decided in an election turnout of likely over 130 million.

Voting has already started in multiple places (I already voted by mail) so I doubt the VP debate will change much. Vance not going off on Illegal aliens getting transgender surgeries and eating cats and dogs was plus for him. Vance is a sperg, not a complete tard like Trump. Walz was also clearly nervous so he held back on quipping like Kamala.

You could tell Vance really didn't want to answer the "stolen" election question. My feeling is that he knows it is all bullshit, but if he came out saying it's bullshit it would cause him issues with Trump and his core voters right now, and if he said it happened, then it will harm him in the years to come if he tries to win over moderates voters in future elections.
Tim Walz facial expressions really reminded me of Ernest Borgnine during the debate. Overall both did better than the candidates they are running for VP under and was more talk about polices than the other debate.
