The deep, dark secret of the GOP is that the vast majority of actual GOP politicians fucking hate Trump. No one wants to work with him. He had a lot of trouble the first go round finding people who would actually stick around his administration for more than a few months, which caused the epidemic of Acting Secretary of This-or-That and constant turnover. Apparently the White House staff was so clueless they couldn't figure out how to turn the lights on in some of the conference rooms for months. Trump had very few choices for a potential VP: he burned Cruz and Rubio on the campaign trail, state governors aren't going to leave their state to work for him (unless they were termed out), and anyone with sense saw what happened when Pence refused to follow his orders. Enter JD Vance, with more ambition than sense, who has demonstrated to us just what Don Jr. would be like if he actually, by some miracle, won an election.

Some amateur commentary on the assassination attempt, it’s pretty fascinating how much footage and angles there are - imagine having a 4K drone fly through of the book depository a few days after JFK got shot.
The cops were aware of the guy *90 minutes* before the shots, apparently.
You’ve got to wonder if the cops passed this onto Trump’s security or the SS and they just blew it off, or if there was such a fuckup that the message never even got sent.
Second piece of media, I listen to the Rachel Maddow show because they often do a great job of pulling various strands together, this episode is really good for that, and entertaining with it.
It covers Trump’s pliability to billionaires demands, Vance, the Bitcoin thing, and the fact that as well as the “you won’t need to vote again” bit, he’s repeatedly saying at these rallies that, effectively, you don’t need to vote for him even this time. As in, he thinks they’ve got it stitched up already with the fake electors and subverting the process from the inside.
Which did very nearly work last time, and nobody went to jail, so I’m sure they’ll have refined the tactics.
It’s going to be a fun one.

They also know if Trump wins, they only have to put up with him four more years and that's it. MAGA won't survive the end of his political career.
This is why I think a lot of people who support Trump have difficulty understanding why someone would vote for a Biden or Harris. They're not voting for the person, they're voting for the platform. No matter who it is in the White House, if they are carrying out the Democratic platform they're doing everything their voters want.
They have no personal investment in these candidates like Trump's supporters do.

Hell, I think the republican party is going to crash really hard after him. Their entire public platform for the last 9 years or so has been MAGA and trump's cult of personality. When he goes away from politics the republican brand will collapse really hard for a while until they can get back on their feet and try to win people with policy, not by loud buffoons and "meme magic"

And if he tries again in 2028 (if he’s not dead/in prison), it’ll have to be as an independent.
The GOP no matter what it looks like it - will not entertain a candidate with a consistent losing streak and declining popularity.
Trump hit his popularity ceiling in 2020 and it’s been declining ever since. His handling of covid and especially Jan 6 played huge parts.

I think he has an even better chance to win now, Biden's VP is somehow even less charismatic and even more stupid than him and he's a senile old man who shits his pants. I haven't been paying attention to what Trump has been up to lately, but I think him doing that pose right after that assassination attempt and overall looking like he actually has a backbone in that moment will carry him alone in the election season. Question isn't if Democrats have a chance, it's what they're willing to do to make sure he doesn't succeed, we already see murder is on the table.
Speaking of Trump potentially winning, if that actually happens I say @Hollywood Hulk Hogan has to have his avatar changed to this

Well would be smarter move from Harris I think. RFK is going to take Harris voters only if she drops to numbers that make people doubt her chances.
I think RFK already is taking Trump voters on polls.
That is why I think Trump will win, if neither of the main candidates crashes. Because on finish line good number of RFK supporters might vote Trump, if RFK has not gained any momentum.
*If Harris' campaign would crash I unironically think RFK would win. Trump crashing. Harris wins, because Trump has like 25% that will vote him even if he gets caught in act of chopping up a hooker.

Don’t get me wrong, he absolutely does. But his popularity hit a ceiling. I mean, imagine JFK getting shot and that historic event not having any real effect on election polling of the time for democrats.
Because that’s exactly what happened with Trump.

Just like wrassling, appearances are like 90% of the vote. Nobody actually cares about your campaign promises until you inevitably not accomplish any of them when your term is up, it's all about making big promises and appealing to people. Trump got the appearances in the bag after his assassination attempt, his voters want him to look tough and he does. Does Kamala even have any genuine supporters? She will be Hillary 2.0: "Anyone but Trump/It was her turn/YAAS QUEEN!" without any meaningful policy or charisma. She might get a few more votes out of third worlders due to her skin being the color of poo but that's it.
You sound pretty out of touch for someone who claims to be reading a lot of articles on the matter.
