I still like it (the book and the movie) and I'm not bothered by the blatant homoerotic subtext because life as a man in general is full of dumb and gay shit.
There are many lines and sentiments from the book and movie that are cringe now, but I still feel like at the time, someone had to encapsulate that distinctive 1990's white boy angst into film. Don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to be cool like Brad Pitt.
Skip the sequel comics.
