idk, homeless people brain people with hammers all the time and get let off. Shooting some guy 50 feet away from you (who is literally 0 danger to you) isn't really self defense. Your first course is ALWAYS to simply remove yourself if possible (unless it's like in your house or something). He had a looooong time to get away (keep backing up, run...), 10 minutes to call the police, etc. Even if the guy started running straight at him with a chainsaw he had a good 30 seconds (minus if he actually...ran) to take him out.

It's an indictment of victim culture and panty-waisted policing policy. Where I live, when she got pulled over headed north she would have taken a sobriety test.
