I've got a few of these on my channel, mostly the Ryan ones, but yeah they really should have just left everything up. The actual audience doesn't give a shit if you weren't woke years ago. They fell into the same trap as Freddie Wong. They thought TV and the silver screen were the way forward. Which while true in the early 00’s it isn't anymore. They were ambitious and thought it was the move forward. Now unlike Freddie, they didn't have the right people for the job and here we are.

They used the funhaus office as a sort of satellite office for the LA connection iirc. In retrospect they were always going to sell out if they the founders could pursue their passions. For Burnie it was film making, and for Geoff it was a creative outlet, where he could do what he wanted. Idk about gus, Joel, matt, etc in terms of their initial passions and what their dreams were, but it was the same for Wong, saw the Internet as a way to the big time, not that it could be its own thing, that's even bigger. Honestly a shame. Could have stayed something great if they would have gotten the right people in place. Always reminds me of the "game kids Trevor" line. Wrong person for the job.
