Doing anything that can even be remotely seen as not sucking tranny balls in current year is a sentence of death by twitter, so either the entire dev team, marketing team, management, idk who else, are based transphobes, or they really thought they were doing a heckin representation.
Absolutely, you phrased it perfectly. There's HSTS', AGPs, and a third new category of trannies, people who troon out simply to feed their victim fetish/to be allowed to be a completely reprehensible person and cry transphobia when criticised.

Reading a few posts from the first page where the community loves to bully and harass the killer while having the while the community complain about anything not pro Survivor and even making up random rules killers should abide by or else get reported for being toxic is probably why troons love this game.

I’ll save you the in-depth balance sperging, but the survivor role has been disproportionately powerful compared to the killer for almost the entire 8 years the game has existed, and the 4v1 structure means that losses as a killer often feel much more unfair and infuriating than the alternative. Survivor players (most Twitch streamers who play the game and a LOT of the game’s LGBT community) have a reputation for being extremely unnecessarily toxic to the point of insulting and working against their own teammates, berating the killer for rules that don’t and have never existed in the game (you’re targeting me, you’re camping too much, etc.) and exploiting even the most minor bugs to an autistic degree to get an edge over the opposition. All these issues are compounded by one of the most downright retarded balance teams that have ever worked on a video game and a product programmed so poorly that content updates regularly break exponentially more shit than they add. All of this combines to create one of the most entitled, insufferable communities in the modern gaming landscape.
You can see why this would attract lots of troons. Being able to equip gay tranny flags on your survivor is just a bonus.

BHVR wrote a pedo line. The Troon va performed this line. And it's in the game. I'm shocked va didn't cite this in their chimpout and apologized despite BHVR associating the Troon and killer with pedophilia.

One iconic example of this games' devs being out of touch is when it had instant flashlights.
Survivors can bring items into the trial, and one type is flashlights. What these do is allow them to stun the killer by pointing them at their face for long enough. If this is done when the killer is picking up a survivor that they've managed to catch, it frees that survivor, making them have to catch them again. Items also have addons that survivors can bring, that buff it. For flashlights, some of these make them stun faster, and therein lied the problem. Survivors could bring a particular set of addons that made that stun happen instantly, and as a side effect of not needing to use them as long, the flashlights would get used up far slower.
One dev, who I believe was/is the main one, claimed this wasn't a problem. He was offered to play a game on stream, against a random team of Koreans. They abused the everloving shit out of him using those flashlights, and he effectively got 0 points, with the match ending in just under 6 minutes. Near immediately following this humiliation, they were nerfed.

You couldn't scream "I'm unstable and a liability to work with" harder if you tried, when there are a ton of starving idiots who would love to be professional VAs it makes it super easy for companies to hire literally anyone except for you. The backtracking makes it even worse, if the logic of "I'm being harassed for working on this project, but the problem is they tricked me into voicing a disgusting tranny" made no sense in the first place then changing your story proves that you're just a drama whore and/or histrionic faggot.
