1. For those unfamiliar with Dead by Daylight, it plays out in matches. Four survivor players have to team up to escape one killer player. You have no ability to choose which killer you go against as a survivor, and you won’t know which killer is being played until you’re already in the match. This means that troon survivor players can not “opt-out” of being chased and slaughtered by the deformed, vaguely humanoid creature wearing a high school cheerleader’s skirt. How triggering!

2. BHVR/Behaviour, the French-Canadian company responsible for Dead by Daylight, is an incredibly pozzed company. They’ve added over 10 pride-themed cosmetics for both survivors and killers, champion drag queens playing the game on stream on the Steam store page, and even have company-sponsored pride rallies. It is very unlikely that this is intentionally designed to offend troons, which, in my opinion, makes it funnier. Take notes, this is what happens when you foster a playerbase and company culture of perpetually offended genderspecials.

3. The Unknown has been available in the game’s beta servers (a public beta for players to test new features and give feedback) for several weeks. The reason there’s only outrage now is because the creature was fully implemented into the game’s live servers on Tuesday, and with its addition came a plethora of new cosmetics available in the in-game store. The cheerleader and elderly woman outfits were some of these new cosmetics and can be mixed with the default male appearance at will. Why did the troons only start freaking out when they gave the creature a skirt? I wonder…

4. The Unknown is one of the more vocal killers in the game, with dozens of voice lines being spouted in either a distorted male or female voice (depending on which cosmetic you use) These lines include phrases such as “Can you help me with this?”, “Somebody help me!” and “I need some help over here…” These all seem to imply that whatever this creature is, it prefers to feign weakness and mimic cries of distress in order to lure in innocent prey. Sound familiar? BHVR really knows their troon mannerisms!

Wonder if we should buy the skins now before they are gone like Leatherface face skins. You still can't switch killers in lobbies because of racism. He should have complained when he did the voice lines trans people were at peek support then but I think after the whole Sweet Baby Inc, Lady Gaga/Dylan Mulvaney thing, the general public is getting tired of all things trans, so who knows?

1: They can rage quit, but it incurs a penalty the more you do it. It leaves a bot behind now which are better than the player that just left because they are psychic. They also will come up to you and teabag for healing.

2: 3 more are being added and already leaked for Pride 2024

3: incorrect. PTB is up for 1 week and then it's gone.

4. Not really. Nic Cage has 150+ voice lines, and Chucky has a combined over 300 voice lines when you include Tiffany.

Holy shit! I dropped the game a year ago, but I might give it a go again before behavior pulls the killer out to make changes.

Part of me feels like behavior might do something like remove the cosmetic or pull the killer for a time period to either change it's look or voice actor. Wouldn't be the first time they did something like that when a skin/killer offended people. As the leatherface survivor face cosmetics others have brought up.

I doubt it’s worth it. I suspect that the offending cosmetics will just be outright removed and players will be refunded for the cost alongside a nice, pandering apology from the devs. They might also cast a new voice actor and redo all of the lines. They’ve done this before with Jonah Vasquez, a survivor character who had to have all of his voice lines redone after the original actor was arrested for CP, and even Pinhead from the Hellraiser movies, whose voice lines were literally done by some unnamed Quebec nigger intern in the BHVR office for months until they could get Doug Bradley to dub them.

For those unaware, the Leatherface mask controversy mentioned above occurred some years ago. When Leatherface, the main antagonist of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre films, was added to the game as a killer, he had a unique feature where killing a certain number of the game’s original 4 survivors unlocked a cosmetic mask made from their skin. This caused a big shitshow because one of the original 4 survivors, Claudette Morel, is black and Leatherface is a white Texan. They removed these masks because people would name themselves things like “Blackface Bubba” and target black survivors while wearing the black survivor skin mask.

Okay so, at one point Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre used to have the faces of the 4 "main" survivors. A white guy, a white girl, an Asian guy, and a black girl. IT started when Leatherface players would hook a Claudette and just stare at them and not leave the hook, maybe hit them a few times or just keep hitting them. (this is considered camping by survivors and they will try and report for it). This usually happened when the Claudette player was also black and wearing the Claudette skin on their face.

And since killers could switch in the lobby, they would purposefully put on Claudette face so they could stand in front of a person on a hook that is being sacrificed to some spider god thing.= Racism.

So then people just ran around with Claudettteface all the time.

So they removed all of the masks (which you had to kill 25 each of them to get) gave anyone who had them 200, 000 Blood points which is the in game currency you earn for doing tasks in the game and is a shared pool between all of your characters, survivor or killer.
