I guess nothing lasts forever, but it's still sad to see what was a major part of internet history truly dead. Rooster Teeth works as a small studio mostly of friends making stuff that they think is funny. Once they became a "business" it was only a matter of time. It's clear no one was having a good time or put any joy into their work. RWBY was the last project that anyone truly cared about until Monty died. RvB was good until the finished Blood Gulch Chronicles and should've just ended there.
RvB was such a big hit initially due to it coming out of literally nowhere and being made by a bunch of buddies who were just dicking around and making jokes. Then the crew made the mistake of thinking they were proper writers with proper ideas for a cohesive narrative and the result was a convoluted mess with humor that was steadily losing its freshness and overly complex storylines that at best contributed little to the entertainment factor and at worst actively made the show less watchable. Which from what I understand was the chief criticism of RWBY after the first few seasons.

As much as some of them have changed, I'd still like Michael to (get a haircut and swallow his ego) teach Geoff how to use a fucking computer, and have them start streaming together, hop in on Ray and Matt's group streams from time to time. Maybe get Gavin in there if he has the time. Because as shit as AH since 2018-ish, that Olympics video Ray came back for shows the magic was still there buried under a mountain of AIDS.

No Trevor though, I'm begging.

I'm hoping for similar with James and Elyse. I hope they decide to do some stuff with Bruce and Lawrence. I know Adam is out of the question which sucks, but whatever. Just don't invite the nu-funhaus era members. Those guys acting as an independent entity could be fun.

Long story short, Joel threatened to vandalize something of Jack's that he and Jack's dad made, and got very close to accomplishing it. Jack has personal reasons to hate Joel, and scowl at his existence compared to the political reasoning everyone else has.
I’m aware of that, but it’s odd that basically everyone beyond Burnie, Gus, Matt, and crybaby Geoff are never mentioned. I think Jason Saldana and Dan Godwin both got excommunicated as well, but they weren’t treated as founders like Joel.

From what I know Joel actually did manage their companies industry contacts prior to them getting bought out so it could’ve just been he was redundant and found himself outside the clique that no longer considered him a friend, but it’s very gay. Like they removed him from the founders and he’s not to be spoken of.

You clearly haven't been keeping up with either Bruce or Lawrence then (and I don't blame you). Lawrence has become an even more bitter little shit heel (so much so its no longer funny) and Bruce has become generic shitty hugbox streamer #234.

The reality is that they lost the magic and would likely not have it in em to do a revival tour.

Because he was conservative and their brains fried with every other left leaning person on the American political spectrum in 2016 turning every right leaning person into a homo killing, black lynching white nationalist Nazi.

The sad fact is that they are likely more ASHAMED of Joel for his opinions than their wife beating executive or underage fucking employee.

I’m also getting really tired of that old fucker constantly going on about support your favorite creators and shit.
Again, do they not realize that they all told the people that wanted to support their favorite creators to fuck off and stop consuming their creations? Thus causing catastrophic collapse of the company.

As much it will be funny to see AH escape and be sole remnant from RoosterTeeth, do we really want Ray to carry that team more in such a scenario than he already did in the past?

That's an astute take. Unlike Rooster Teeth, it's far more likely DC Comics would find a buyer or a consortium of buyers if Warner decides to sell it off. The DC brand has largely positive name recognition and a cultural cachet Rooster Teeth lacked.

Once sold off, the new DC owners could conduct a purge to rid DC of its Wokeness, focus on entertainment, and go back to selling millions of its top titles instead of the paltry numbers they're getting now. New DC owners could in theory rejuvenate the American comics industry. Fans would love it.

But we all know this will never happen. Too good to ever be true.
WB never EVER sells off IP. They would sooner vault it forever than allow even the original creators to buy it back. So they won’t sell off DC Comics.

What they will do is fire everybody at the comic publishing division and license the comic production and publication out to Todd McFarlane or Robert Kirkman’s Skybound. Note Hasbro just licensed their GI Joe and Transformers out to Skybound, taking them away from IDW (And Heather Anto’s extra special charms) And sales have skyrocketed! They took the Trans back out of Transformers. Prayed the Gay away from GI Joe and returned the stories to their classic form. In under 6 months. And Kirkman and McFarlane have a deal where McFarlane is releasing GI Joe and Transformers “Page Punchers” action figures bundled with a Skybound Comic. McFarlane currently has deep ties to DC since he’s making their toys. And outselling Hasbro. He might be the only business unit currently making money off DC IP.

Funhaus did a livestream. I didn't watch it but if someone else wants to go through it and get notes.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=_RF6jTU-jQA
I watched it live. There wasn't much to it. Just thanking anyone who watched past and present. James said that while he doesn't think he can for legal reasons, he asked for people to download and archive the videos and member videos. Him and Elyse looked really upset and she looked like she was on the verge of tears at some points.

As of this moment they don't have any plans of staying together as a group and gave out info for their individual channels on YouTube and Twitch.

Just going to throw this out there, because I find it morbidly hilarious:
All of these people losing their jobs are going to individually get into streaming, and their old small audience will not be able to spread out and cover each of them. That's an already small pie 2 whole ass companies are going to need to fight over to pay their bills.

If we wanted to support them, then RoosterTeeth wouldn’t be bankrupt would it?
I always like pointing this out - but it did not fucking matter. You can buy merch, RT first, whatever but the company was burning money at a rate that would never have been able to be supported.

Barbara said it cost $35k/minute to animate RWBY - meaning that Volume 9 cost SIX POINT SIX MILLION DOLLARS ($6,600,000) just in production costs alone. Factor in most of the cast working at RT with inflated salaries, casting popular YouTubers, having huge lawsuits with voice actors - it's possible the "real" cost for RWBY was pushing 7 or 8 million dollars per year - for a series they haven't been able to get out annually.

For reference -
A season of One Punch Man (12 episodes) cost $960,000 and looks drastically better.
Warner Brothers has released full animated movies for around a $2,500,000 price tag - with Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy included.

There's 0 way that RWBY was ever going to generate that much money - no matter how hard they whipped their audience over it. They all had to have known it too and still pushed every "we need you to do this!" button they could the whole way down.

I'm working on notes for Null, should he wish to use them, but this moment in the entire livestream stood out to me, hard. The face of a company that realizes it's fucked.

Let me blunt, the world losing Akira Toriyama was a more devastating loss than everything Rooster Teeth ever did with all their employees put together.

People will remember this week for the acouncemment of the loss of the legendary mangaka for years to come (he died before the announcement ) . The whole of a rooster teeth, and their legacy, will be forgotten in 2 weeks or so.

I believe that is correct. He did their commercial stuff.

Rooster teeth did used to make gaming commercials for GameStop and some random games. Joel was in charge of that as far as I recall.
I'm 95% sure they made this commercial just to give you an idea of what they did.

It would be schadenfreude in someway that they went bankrupt because Joel was fired.

One thing about Joel's political position is that I'm pretty sure he used to watch Stephan Molyneux.

I thought Gavin did sell them the channel or they partially owned it so he could come live in America. He said he made it for his work visa, but I don't know how much ownership they have.

After seeing this I was skeptical because I've literally never seen any RT branding on any SMG content so I looked it up and apparently some kind of (very) limited partnership was made in 2013 during AH's golden age that may have ended entirely around 2017. You can find their vids from 2013 to 2017 on the RT site and a handful of vids on the RT channel dated to 2017 at the latest, about half of which seem RTX related. SMG merch is also sold on a separate site as well, not RT.

He was on video 5 days a week for years during the good old days (have most of it archived) and I can recall SMG being mentioned exactly once as a joke in a worms lets play. He kept it well separated from what he was known for at RT and I can't imagine that didn't extend to whatever working relationship they had.

If you do best of the worst try to dig up the Kay and the fan would did highlights bullshit where they basically pissed off a longtime fan because she was a criminal nigger. I think the Reddit thread for that still exists, honestly a lot of old Roosterteeth subreddit posts would basically just be Null’s Reddit thread for tomorrow.

There’s also Fragger revealing that another contributor groomed a girl and Roosterteeth quietly covered it up until the guy killed himself on a park bench.

I have both incidents noted in the OP actually, how Ky bullied Hembrohero off, and Knuckles Dawson.
