do you not realize they killed Superman like decades ago? same with Batman. who gives a shit. these characters die left and right and come back like nothing happened. 10 years ago the same spergs saying "you can't make super man a bad guy!" were saying "woah super man put on a yellow lantern ring and punched out the green lanterns!"

if this was a better user, this could have been something like a "Troons in the industry" megathread highlighting some notable trannies in the industries that they work in ala the one about some highlights related to trannies posting thier funny misfortunes.
 
Troons have been a disaster throughout in the entertainment industry in general.

Harley Quinn as a tv show is mid to say the least, it's Family Guy, quasi Rick & Morty humor at best. I think it's mostly the surface-level people that think Harley is an icon of anything really.
The best renditions of her have her tied to Joker as an accessory to his plots because its the only time her character gets real depth outside of her Zany-Wacky-Edgy Antics. This is why every medium of hers worth anything will never stray far from The Joker. She literally cannot. And you know what they say about The Joker. We live in a fucking society.
Hard argument, Anybody repping Harley for any kind of iconography are just the other side of the faggots that unironically think Joker relates to them.

I'm sure this character will go on to have a variety of adventures that will put them on par with Captain America, Iron Man, or Spider-Man and not at all a character that will languish for an eternity of obscurity once this ongoing conversation and obsession with troons dies down the way we are already literally seeing.

Harley in general is best approached by her dynamics with Joker or people who know him. It's a shame she didn't get any good writers in the comics. I'd love to have seen something with Harley post-leaving Joker and her interacting with pre-nu52 DCU reformed villains/antiheroes.

Eh, probably not that good of an idea. Didn't they try to make her relevant in fucking Countdown?

Countdown? You mean Countdown to Doomsday? I'll be the first to say I'm not the most brushed-up on DC but the less we talk about the Countdown To Doomsday the better because holy fuck was that a prime example of DC Corporate fuckery trying desperately to pander to SOMEBODY that wanted Watchmen, an arguably perfect comic, to be a part of their shit tier universe.
I could go on a rant about how badly Alan Moore was fucked by corporate nonsense from beginning to the end and how the very act of them making both a Watchmen HBO show by that hack Damon Lindeloff, and that shitty Countdown To Doomsday event in the comics was a perfect microcosm of how true creatives are treated in the industry, but I won't sperg.

I'll be honest and say that the last good Harley thing I enjoyed was maybe the White Knight comics where Joker and Harley become Gotham's saviors through Joker becoming sane.

Edit: Just checked, I was wrong, you could be referring to more than one thing, because Lmao Comics. Which one do you mean?

This is a controversial statement to make in the Current Year, but Harley Quinn really works best as a character when she is an accessory to the Joker. She was literally designed to be that way by her creator, Paul Dini. All of the greatest Batman villains are tragic in some way, and Harley's tragedy is that she's basically just a nice Jewish girl underneath all the clown paint, but she's completely unable to get over her obsession with a toxic, abusive man who doesn't respect her and it's ruining her life. She is emblematic of every brilliant woman who is being held back in her life 'because I love him'.

Like, this isn't an interpretation or a headcanon, Dini has literally gone on the record saying this.

But somewhere along the way, it was decided that all female characters had to be strong, proud, independent feminist icons who don't need no man, which is why we have Harley Quinn in her current form, even though she was never designed to be that way, it doesn't fit with her personality and makes her considerably less interesting as a character.
