One of the things I noticed, back in the early days before the polling should have been setting off warning klaxons, was they seemed to be operating on the assumption that the hypothetical support when RDS was peaking back before the run was set in stone. I remember the strategy being 'act like you're already the nominee' which lead to stuff like calling Trump 'Gov. DeSantis primary challenger'. Which can be fine at some points but didn't pass the smell test here. I haven't thought it out fully but I think there's a point to be made, much like the strange hybrid PAC/campaign structure, they were trying to recapture Meme Magic while under the constraints of approved campaign talking points. That and DeSantis never really offered any reason to explain why he was going after a guy he agreed with 95 percent of the time. Also that Ron was owed the same media attention as Trump despite doing nothing interesting for months. That's a pretty good way of putting it. One other ingredient missing from the 2016 formula is that the Meatball fanboys were always overly serious and dull, and never had any fun doing any of it. Everything boiled down to yelling down all of the Ron-disbelievers on Twitter
Speaking of 'owed media attention', the Matt Walsh fallout is still happening, with fans writing long winded letters complaining that the Daily Wire wasn't Ron's personal PR Firm.
Jenna Ellis, one of the more level head RDS influencers finally asked 'Who the hell are these people? Democratic plants?'

Her comments are pretty balanced, but a few members of the Fight Club popped in to explain themselves. And yeah, they basically felt it was the DW's job to help Ron win and report on their stupid slap fights with the Dilley Meme Team and other shit no one cares about.
Let's zoom in on that community note real quick.
Not only are they that petty, they couldn't even be bothered to write their own community note. They fed it into a chat bot.
