Grande's videos were an eye opener and empowered me to identify and deal with many narcissists and psychopaths in my life.

He is not exciting or funny but he knows what he is talking about when it comes to personality disorders.

I gave him a try. He does a decent job breaking personalities down without over-simplification or losing people in the details.
But I will say he does strike me obviously as a sort of "trust the facts" type.
Like one video he's critiquing Narcissist channels on Youtube and saying how he doesn't like that people have grown to hate narcissists and their emboldening by these videos and that in his experience narcissists can change, and of course bringing up that he's got a PhD several times.
That's cool for him but from personal experience, that moral absolutism definitely has helped me personally with narcissists way more than regarding them as "the psychological field" would.
I'm not saying he's not informed. But I think he definitely has that sense of superior a lot of people in his field have.

Try his older videos. I think his newfound popularity might have gone to his head in his later vids.

Thinking back (couple years ago now) Grande wasn't the only one I learned from. The impression I got from his narcissism videos was that a narcissist needed to be smart to be effective, which is absolutely not true. I don't think he was wrong, rather that's just what I took away from the video. I remember there was some chick who had a whole series of videos on Narcissistic Personality Disorder and I think specifically how it affects different kinds of relationships. The different perspective of her videos helped me understand the problem more clearly.

The most important thing I took away from all of this is that people with cluster B personality disorders are psychologically armed and dangerous, and there is no fixing them.

There does come to be a big issue that I'm sorting out where someone who might have some of the traits of Cluster B can definitely be pigeonholed into almost becoming one due to their experience with people who are complete poster childs for said disorders.

Say you're someone who desperately wants attention and validation, which could look a lot like BPD and Histrionic. Well, this want tends to draw narcissists and borderlines towards you, which of course with the "peaks and valleys" experience of dealing with narcissists and borderlines, reinforces and strengthens that inner neurosis in you over time, to where eventually you find yourself well on the way to being a prototypical example of a cluster B unless you find a way to get the hell out as soon as possible. It's a very rough road to go down.
Mentally ill people are really good at making others mentally ill, what a surprise.

Sadly it is. They are racing for a cure but it doesn't look promising.
