I don't think I've ever known a place like this website, where you can simultaneously be bullied relentlessly for something AND be given extremely helpful, polite criticisms. It's a fascinating balance.

I was gonna follow up my dumb throwaway comment with exactly this. Beat me to it.

It's incredible how for every comment laden with slurs and hilariously creative bullying, there is twice as much genuine and heartfelt advice for thread subjects to improve and do better. Like lolcows tend to do though, that advice would never be taken to heart - their egos won't allow it.

If I was to write Red Myst, I would focus on the family dynamics of the Bai family but also have Elliot as the transfer student kid but the patriarch of the Bai family would be weary of Elliot. The dad would blame Elliot for the misfortune with the zombie outbreak but eventually overcomes his bigotry and accept the fact Elliot is just an kid.

A site like this has a tendency to function opposite of a lot of other modern sites where people are forced to act politically correct or "nice", while privately despising everyone and hoping to see them fail.

Here everyone says mean words but I know for a fact like 75% of the userbase is super gay and mushy behind the scenes and would help these people even if it meant losing a lolcow. Thankfully none of them listen to advice though, so it's moot.

To me, it'd be funnier if the black devil (aka nigger) was actually the villain but everyone else in the story was trying to convince the dad he wasn't for reasons of Peace and Tolerance. Then he caves to their pleas and everyone dies in the end because no one stopped Nigga-san from spreading his zombie AIDS Africa style. Not a tragedy, but a comedy. Where everyone dies.

Can't speak for anyone else, but I posted sincere advice at first because I remember what it was like to be 20something and retarded with an inflated ego.
