So its over now? Even Trump skipped the debates and only showed up the last week of campaigning and now its Trump and the indian. DeSantis got treated with such kid gloves by literally everyone. Not a single joke from the late night people and the usual blue checkmarks barely payed attention to him. It was like if a literal retard ran for president, outside of the boots he's literally not had a single joke made about him. Even Barack in 2008 got a lot more shit from the left. This was the nicest people have been to a supposed frontrunning GOP candidate since HW Bush.
It was over before it started. The National Comittee might be a defanged loyal opposition, but the State level commitees are not. And they are the ones who run the primaries.
More broadly though, there is just this general feeling that Trumps story is not over yet and we all want to see the climax. I'm not gonna lie, it's compelling on an almost mythological level, which makes the rational part of my brain groan and cringe.
But that is the simple truth. Trumps story was never finished. And the people want to know how it ends. This must be an utterly alien concept for the political establishment, having been raised on a diet deconstructive literature. Carl Jung and Joseph Cambell would not be surprised at all.
