I just think he's way too lazy to come good on his end of the bargain by advertizing the convention. He goes about his business of tweeting, jerking off and stuffing his face and completely neglects his minimal obligation of pumping up the event he's attending.
I also strongly believe that the dude in the audience who accused Boogie of beating his ex wife was some fan who was planted by Boogie. No one accuses him of beating his ex-wife and he handled the heckler very calmly. Not bad for someone with cripling social anxiety

Most of these small cons that Boogie goes to are just outlets for starving artists to sell their niche junk to their small fanbase, or for people looking to get into "insert category of con here" such as starting voice actors or artists. I'm sure he can easily sway these people to easily pay for his economy class flight ticket and a 3 sitting day out in w/e no name city/town the con is hosted at. For Boogie it's free food and a chance for him to stroke his ego by talking to people while being an influential guest a double win for him.
I'm assuming you're memein. Boogie doesn't have "crippling social anxiety" like he says he has that's for sure. He only says that to trauma bond with people like he did with his wife slave. He goes to so many live events/panels there's no way he could have that if he actually goes out of his way to go to them. Should proof enough with his many videos of public speaking/panels that he certainly does not have social anxiety. If the shoe fits. In this case it doesn't.

Didn't know cons were so low-brow. Thought they'd be at least a bit more self-aware given how woke infested their industry and fanbase are.
The horrifying thing is that Boogie lacks the grifting methods the other washed-up celebs have; he's got no merch to sell and no one would buy his autograph even if he was selling. I think he's going literally just to creep on young female attendees and cosplayers.
Imagine a strapping buck of his stature having to go to a con of loser neckbeards to meet the young pussy (that's obviously legal, WILD that you'd think otherwise) that's falling over him anywhere he goes. You'd think that with his level of game, all the SlimPimp would have to do was go to a bar in any city he cruises through to get that.
Retard can't even beat his meat, let alone his wife. The guy who went along with it is probably a lolcow in training if he was stupid enough to believe boogie and even stupider enough to follow through with his little skit.

I agree. Whether or not that was a plant idk but Boogie has had so much exposure lately with the documentary, he would definitely attract some nearby or even traveling trolls. Didn't he mention being "scared" of Muta'a followers?
Years ago I used to be a Boogie/Francis fan but I've grown to dislike him more than Wings, Cyrax or even Chris Chan. He's as bad as DSP just in different ways.
Boogie2988 belongs in jail.

Thing is though there is a shred of truth in what Boogie said but of course we all know why he said it, as it was an obvious excuse for himself. I have no doubt that there are some really weird parasocial fucks out there in Mutahar's community that would come to Boogies place but lets be real here the reason again Boogie even stated that wasn't because of an actual fear for his own safety.
On a side note I'm surprised there isn't some sort of Sam Hyde wannabe copycat trying to clout chase by visiting lolcows trying to one up what he did.

he loves sitting behind the same plastic table with the same stupid cartoon francis banner to feel important and relevant and reminisce on the days when people actually gave a fuck about him. then he waddles his fat ass to the conference room to give the same Q&A panel he does at every single con while basking in the ability to talk about himself in-front of an audience.
he also uses these cons as an excuse to go on travel escapades, especially now with dezi, under the guise of, "rofl I'm actually being paid to travel" as if they're comping him for a full week's vacation.

You nailed most of it but I think that the other overwhelming reason that Boogie is obsessed with attending these cons is very simple: he gets what he figures is the perfect excuse to eat out every meal for an entire weekend. We saw this on the Caleb Hammer show, the idea that he could just eat at the hotel continental breakfast never even occurs to him. They could very simply just buy a rotisserie chicken and some bagged salad from the nearest grocery store and eat plenty/well/on a budget at the hotel room, but we all know why this never happens. Instead he can gorge himself at dinner by going to restaurants that he hasn't been to in a while or ever, and shove more regular shit like Chick-Fil-A down his throat for meals like breakfast and lunch. Even better he gets to meet up with other 'celebrities' and of course they just have to go out for some big celebratory dinner together, it's not like over-eating is literally killing this guy or anything.
You nailed the Dezi part, I highly doubt that any of these cons are paying anything extra to a washed-up youtuber for a plus one. Furthermore he loves to claim he's being 'paid' to attend these, but there's a difference between actually earning income and just having your costs covered (even this is a stretch I bet). I pretty much guarantee if you compared his actual money spent over the convention weekend to what he is compensated for, he runs consistent losses at every single one. No need for an extra hotel room but no matter what Boogie claims Dezi simply doesn't cost 'nothing', her added costs come straight from his pocket so it will be even worse this coming year as compared to previous years.
The guy goes to these cons every single year, why the fuck hasn't he managed to come up with some merch that he can sell while he's just sitting there? If there was ever a perfect opportunity to actually try to earn some money these cons are exactly that, but still he does nothing because the problem simply Boogie being fucking lazy. His audience is literally coming straight to him and he still can't be fucked to actually take advantage of it, but I'm sure he'd say some shit about how 'I just really don't like taking money from my fans, I prefer to take it from sponsors'. He really thinks this line makes him seem so noble, but it really just makes him look retarded.

-Wings immediately defends Boogie, says Boogie "had an idea" from watching TW except this doesn't work because Boogie claims he never saw TW's video beforehand LOL
-as already said, Boogie's argument is basically that he would have plagiarized "better" if he had done so
