I hear that the Mongolians also like to drink fresh and fermented horse milk?
They also drink suutei tsai, which is horse milk + tea + salt + spices

I've never heard of Mongolians adding salt to their coffee
Mongols knew about coffee through the Turks, but they didn't start drinking it until more recent times. Some like to drink it with salt because they're used to suutei

It's weird that there is still a majority of people who don't just add a tiny pinch to their grounds before brewing. Salt combats bitterness and enhances whatever sweet flavors you might add later, hence all dessert recipes including a touch of salt. This isn't exactly a snob take; everyone already adds salt to everything else they cook and I'm not telling people to exclusively use rose salt imported from an underwater cavern or some shit. Use the off brand that's under $1 per pound, it won't matter as long as you're not ingesting poison.

Save yourself the need for extra sweetener and just add a touch of salt, you absolute weirdos.

Smoked meat and cheese coffee, that's the way to go.

I like my coffee like I like my women; black and preferably fair trade. And without salt. But I'm curious now. About how much would you put into say, a tall Yeti travel cup of coffee? I don't want to dump a full teaspoon in and taste nothing but salt.

You should try putting salt on freshly harvested coffee beans and eating them like that.
