Oh god, thank you for reminding me of this. I had finished Katawa Shoujo and was hankering for more VN shit and ended up giving this a go (yes, I was a faggot). He helped you but he embezzled money out of charity from an event (Indieland) that's supposed to help you and your community along with the donated charity. Having him in your game when he possibly used you and DEFINITELY used other people in your community as a cover (unlike Jontron) just feels wrong. Jontron got kicked for words, but Jirad is getting kicked for his actions.
Listen, do you disown uncle Jonathan for being a good guy but saying some racist shit from time to time, or do you disown cousin Gerard who bought great gifts for everyone each Christmas and birthday, acted real nice and kind, but embezzled all of the money from his two kids' college funds and ran away when asked about it?

Thierry is presenting the situation in more civil terms but I would wager that behind the scenes he is pissed. Not only was he the one representing Sabotage Studios (the Sea of Stars devs) during Indieland 2020 to 2023 but they also donated several thousand dollars to the event. I don't think it's a coincidence that Jirard changed his handle the same day they made this announcement (the last archive we have with the handle is from then 11th but it's a safe assumption that it was still there until yesterday).

So he donated money, helped promote them, and they're grateful for his contribution to the product and what they're developing. They are touched by the kindness of Jirad and the new community they gained from him, and when Jirad kindly asks for donations to his foundation he ans his family dedicated to his mother's passing by an awful disease, they donate, happy to give back to them. They did what they said they were going to do with the money, their nice friend Jirad was going to too, right? Besides, they might have had family members afflicted by the same or similar illnesses.
Yeah @ShitLurker , Jirad lied to them about where the money they gave him went, they gave him their trust and he abused it. They don't owe him DICK.

I don't get why so many YouTube videogame people have so many employees. GameGrumps, this guy, God knows who else. At most you should need 3 people; the front man, the editor, and some sort of pick-up guy, to do other stuff, what that might be, I don't know, I'm just kinda going with it. Point being, you don't need so many fucking employees to run a YouTube channel, especially if you're solo and not making your own network/collective; and even if you are operating a network/collective, you only need one or two people for every channel front man. To have up to 20 employees, I'd expect a network with 6 to 7 different personalities, not one dude who 100% games.
