Money FB 8/31 - Who wants to pay our mortgage?!

There are people who have much bigger problems than Chris that manage to have gainful employment. I could see Chris huffing and inwardly rebelling and whining the first year or so while he was forced to adjust to a 9/5 job, but he's not intellectually nor temperamentally incapable of holding a job -- assuming you threatened him with a big enough stick.

A lot of people with disabilities don't work solely for the money. The extra money is nice but for many disabled people work is also a means to a sense of fulfilment and purpose and feeling more engaged in the normal world.

Chris seems to be totally unaware that his life lacks purpose. The only thing I could see motivating him to even do a work trial is if he believed it would bring him things he wants which can't be purchased with money. Even if he thought it was the path to women and Crystal, he'd expect those things to materialise quickly and give up when they didn't.

Chris's life could be improved by many things, but if he was capable of making and sustaining those changes he wouldn't be an exceptional tard in the first place. He's the perfect storm of both nature and nurture falling short.

His temperament is totally unsuitable for the labour market. Even if he got a job under some special vocational rehabilitation programme, he wouldn't be able to maintain it for very long.

Around here, people like Chris tend to end up doing scrap metal or mowing lawns for pocket money. They don't have the ability to consistently apply themselves to unskilled stuff and earn a decent amount of money.
Chris' temperament is not suitable for most if not all markets. If somehow, a celebrity niche opened up that demanded autistic crossdressers and paid millions of dollars, Chris would sign some contract and screw things up..
Why? Chris is inherently lazy, and even being a big celebrity that might get to trib with the stars is not enough incentive to pull Chris away from his lego, vidya, and stress sighing. *sigh*

I would consider doing it, but a few conditions would have to be met:

Chris must donate all his video games and most of his toys to charities for children (Like Shriners Hospitals for Children, etc.). He may keep his PS4 and a few of his favorite Transformers and Power Rangers, but the rest must either be donated or taken to the dump. Chris is not allowed to buy new ones.

The house must be cleared of the hoard and cleaned thoroughly. The yard must be maintained. They are not allowed to buy any more crap and they must allow regular, random inspections of the property, both inside and out. Barb must go to therapy to deal with her hoarding problem.

Chris must shave off that disgusting rats nest of hair and practice good hygiene, including daily showers.

Chris must be permanently sterilized so as not to produce offspring and pollute the gene pool.

Chris must undergo therapy to become a decent member of society and undergo vocational training to eventually get a job.

Chris must return to making regular updates to the Sonichu comic to appease his fans as well as regular videos.

Chris may never again vandalize anything or assault another person. He must behave himself in public at all times.

Chris and Barb must use their incomes for necessities only (food, debts, therapy, healthcare, erc.) And must provide proof that their money is going to those things (must provide receipts monthly as well as mostly income statements to match up to what they're spending). Along with this, Chris must end his begging for anything, including money and toys.

They must both leave Cole and other family members alone. No more guilt trips trying to get a family member to take on their responsibilities.

Chris and Barb must sign a legally binding contract to agreeing to all these conditions. They must also agree that if they fail any of these conditions they forfeit ownership to 14 Branchland Court. They must also agree never to find a way out of their agreements or they likewise forfeit ownership of the house. If ownership is forfeit then they must vacate the home within 30 days.

I think that would be the only sane way anyone would agree to helping with their debts. It would be interesting to see if they would even consider this deal, let alone accept it.

Ultimately, they would probably say no. But in a "what if" world, I imagine Barb agreeing only because she thinks she's smarter and more clever than everyone else and thinks she can outsmart the other person.

Chris, I will pay the mortgage if I can have ownership of the house, and you and Barb will produce videos for me whenever I demand them.

Edit - just saw the Dude's post on this. he put it better than i ever could.

Am I autistic for almost getting to the point of tears over this thread?

Chris is going to die when Barb dies, holy fuck. That house has been owned for a pretty long time now, how do you NOT pay off the mortgage on it? Its almost like barb planned on killing her kid in the slowest way possible.

This actually fucking scares me, Chris is screwed in ways unfixable, what with the debt thats been gained over the years because of Barb, Chris having been enabled his whole life so he doesn't know shit about anything, the list goes on.

So uhh yeah, when are we memoralizing the subforum again?

oblivious people who raised arguably the most exceptionally oblivious child were oblivious to their impending financial collapse. Shocking.

chris-chan surely is an exceptional individual who will pay his mortgage by e-begging on facebook.

if he doesn't get money, nothing will change. if he gets money, nothing will change.

So did they bear the brunt of the repairs because Chris caused the fire and the extreme hoarding that was in the house? Or did they not have fire insurance?

Someone please feel free to correct me, but I'm pretty sure @trashraider confirmed some stuff about this last year

-They did have insurance (covered by State Farm).
-Under normal circumstances State Farm would give you temporary housing and fix your house in the meantime
-Unfortunately Barb spent so much time battling with them (claiming every piece of her fire-damaged hoard was worth saving/being paid to be put into storage) that they eventually said "fuck it" and just cut her a cheque for her to pay for renovations herself.

I'm assuming the cheque value would have been significantly less than the cost of what State Farm would have paid to refurbish the property themselves and Barb probably had to dip heavily into the mortgage to pay a contractor to finish the job. But like I said, someone can correct/elaborate on this if they can be bothered to search through this forum's archives.

That's pretty much what we think is correct. They wouldn't necessarily have cut her a cheque for less, though - they just pay their preferred contractors less than she could hire contractors for so she'd get less work for the same amount of money. The wildcards are what was insured (home and contents or home only), whether the amount insured was adequate, and whether what Barb wanted was non-standard in some way (which would have made the restoration and refurbishment more expensive than the amount of the insurance).

There should be a way to search the title for liens.
