You do not need to undergo "eight months of combat training" to be attached to a combat unit. If she was the battalion commander's secretary, Hila would have underwent 02-level training, which is essentially a month of being yelled at and one or two trips to a range to learn how to fire a rifle. In any case, Duchifat is not one of the units where women serve in combat roles.
This is only true for combat soldiers. If you're attached to a combat unit permanently, it's given to you when you arrive there.
