Talking shit on your spouse is always a classless and disgusting move. Even in a bar, with dudes, in passing and under the influence. You’re signaling to the world you’re unhappy with the results of your decision in a life partner, and you’re insulting and debasing yourself when you do so. It’s like telling your conversation partner you’re a loser with buyers remorse.
This, precisely. I never recommend it, even if it is just telling people a recent but significant squabble (or partner faults...). It's incredibly tacky, it creates needless drama and attracts a network of "friends" who feed off that sort of business.
Relationships in general are difficult enough to manage alone. Marriages, even more difficult. Add prying eyes and other parties to the mix into one's weird personal world with a special someone and it's like managing

It doesn't even help, anyway. The best person to talk about relationship troubles within a relationship is
with the partner. The exception is when the need for emotional support is quite real and that person is suffering some sort of meltdown or traumatic situation that gets in the way of being objective. Say leaving an abusive relationship or dealing with a stressful situation that is blowing up one's life. Whatever the case,
don't bring your partner's baggage to the table if it's a relationship worth keeping
. It only does a disservice to both people and it's rather important to respect your partner's privacy and dignity.
Obviously I draw the line at petty details. Poking fun at the clear differences between each person is not the same as revealing emotionally damaging information about the other party. Of course, still be relatable.
Nick could have avoided talking shit about his wife and kids by just doing his job & not bringing his family into it at all.
Most streamers / video “content creators” might mention having a spouse or kids but any other personal details are not discussed.
A narcissistic streamer passing up the opportunity to talk about themselves? You're kidding. I always think well of streamers (and anyone, really) who keep boundaries in place. It informs me they have a basic sense of self-respect. Which is very much lacking in society today as evidenced by the existence of this very fun website.
