I could justify surrogacy when a woman cannot give birth due to some disability/injury since they at least have the perspective of what they ask another woman to do. But gay couple using surrogacy is completely fucked up for everyone involved, unless the person is a willing friend/family member, then it's as bad, if not worse, than prostitution.

Its hardly a schizo take that womens bodies should not be a tradeable commodity. I know it runs against much of the mainstream narrative of "It is so empowering to be a whore", and "Cutting of my breast is so valid and affirming", but that does not mean that kiwis have to support it. Personally, I find surrogacy, womb transplants, pornography, sex reasignment surgery and prostitution abhorrent, and for much the same reasons. Regards

But you've seen the ghoulish horrors they've been thinking about (artificial wombs, brain-dead women used as surrogates).

Since I just woke up, I will be brief with this post:

Surrogacy is why Ukraine has a surplus of orphans dumped at institutions, even pre-Russian invasion. India had the same issue, with foreigners using their women as surrogates until the practice the banned.

Fucking India, of all places banned foreigners from using their surrogacy program. The country of street shitting rapists has enough sense to see the connection between surplus of stateless children and surrogacy, according to this documentary.


Meanwhile, Ukraine is still offering surrogacy services even as Russia is invading them:


It’s a disgusting industry all around when you consider how many children are abandoned for being less than ideal for (usually) North American and/or British “parents”.

Nah, surrogacy is mostly used by rich celebrities like Elon Musk or Kim Kardashian, who want to have a lot of kids but don’t want to put their figure through the wringer.

At 100,000 USD per kid if you do it in the US, surrogacy is a very expensive service to obtain legally. You can maybe go abroad and get it for cheaper but there’s an off chance that you could get nailed for human trafficking when you try to bring your baby home. Many countries that used to allow international surrogacy (eg India) no longer do because of too many fuck-you-rich tourists were offshoring their pregnancies.

And even if you’re on a budget it still costs like 30,000usd to get it done in Ukraine.

The Bene Tleilax really were space incels if you think about it. I wonder if Herbert used them as a critique of technologies like this, I'd have to look into this some more.
