Might have been answered before in the thread but;
What about the fact he stole/embezzled money from his mom? Was that never brought up during his trials?
Since those weren't part of the initial charges he was being tried under, the prosecution would have to set up a new trial if they wanted to charge him for anything unrelated to him diddling his mother.

They'd just issue a superseding indictment adding the new charges, and if the new charges required a grand jury, they'd put it in front of the grand jury again. (In this case, they never got an indictment since Chris waived it early on.)

I leave for a couple days and this happens.

Chris's case has been dismissed. He's free.

It’s also not as clear cut as that regarding theft .

1: pretty sure if it was theft it’s be considered petty theft since the amount was like 600 or so

2: he has been living with her his whole life and the reason he has access to the account seems to be from a history of sharing finances

3: it’s just a blurry angle . You don’t know if he had pre existing authorization or if she had even told him before he left what to do. If you can show she wasn’t competent mentally to make that decision then there ya go you have an angle. Realistically it’s a fucking lot of work over petty theft that isn’t obviously theft when you have a far more concerning possible incest and rape charge to go deal with .

I thought it was the main motivation for his arrest at the time?

Wasn’t it that in taking that particular money he was violating a no contact order?

Both of these were speculations at the time. Chris was arrested a few days after being vacated from house . Null had given up on helping Chris day before Chris got arrested. Although around the same time extended family revoked their allowance to have chris stay with them as well. Chris was going to either end up being homeless or going back to branchland .

It’s ultimately not entirely known why chris got arrested when he did but as far as I know it wasn’t ever proven it was due to the money.

Violating the non contact order is more likely than suggestion of theft but still. It is funny how as the years go by so much speculation that gets dug up in chat enters into accepted mythology of Chris chan though lol.

It was after Null turned him in for that that they actually just locked him up instead of releasing him with just a protective order.

Not proven but he hadn't done anything else in between getting the order and getting hauled off to jail with Ethan Ralph taking video.

All things considered he got away pretty cleanly. No probation even? Because you just know he's going to screw that up somehow.
