I was watching this video on The Road Warriors earlier and it just hit me like a sack of bricks. the intro alone just encapsulates why wrestling was so great in the 80's and 90s and why it will never again be this awesome.

Just look at all those fans and watch how they react...this was an era where the heels felt like
actual monsters being released from a cage somewhere. You don't get that at all anymore. Sort of like getting a small taste of The Colosseum...I can only imagine how it felt being in the arena. Just comparing the two nowadays is embarassing. It seems like most modern wrestling fans are those awful "smart mark" internet types you started seeing around the early to mid 2000's talking about it like they were an unofficial member of the creative team or something...back then it was true carnival shit, legitimate entertainment spectacle.
