The assistant manager of a South Carolina Burger King has been arrested after she allegedly served customers French fries that had been in the trash can, police said.

Jaime Christine Major, 39, was charged on Monday with tampering with food — a felony — for allegedly taking French fries from the trash and adding them to the container where freshly cooked fries are placed and then dumping just-cooked fries on top.

The Union Police Department responded to a reported disturbance at the fast food joint on July 9, Fox Carolina reported.

At the scene they found two women screaming at restaurant staff, threatening them and using profanity.

When the women refused to calm down at officers’ request, they were both arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, police told the outlet.

Two days later, Burger King headquarters called the police and told them that Major had been serving fries from the trash can.

A warrant was issued for Major’s arrest after an investigation.

If convicted, she could face up to 20 years in prison, according to the State.

A judge set her bond at $20,000.

She remained in custody at the Union County Detention Center as of Tuesday, the State reported.

My older Gen X brother when he was a teenager in the mid to late 80's he worked at Wendy's. He told my mom a story about how some woman walked into the Wendy's where he worked just an hour or so before they closed and ordered a chicken sandwich or burger. They gave it to her with no lettuce just tomato. So she went back to the counter and complained and they took the sandwich back and took a piece of lettuce out of the trash and put it on her sandwich. This was back in the 80's. This isn't a new thing. People have always been shit and so has fast food.

If people had a healthy fear of the possible repercussions for doing something like this, they would not do it. So let me put this out there. There are people out there who, if they ever catch any of you food service industry workers tampering with their food, and don't you think they don't watch what's going on back there, they will beat you mercilessly and will get away with it because of their positions in society. Don't think this is a bluff, you don't know where they are or who they are but I can promise you that tampering with the wrong person's food is something you will regret.

I generally cook my own food. Call me crazy. If I do eat out I am well aware that there are people handling my food and some people are unsanitary or just fuck heads. When I was manager of a Chicken fast food place none of this stuff ever happened. I'm thinking it's because the fast food joint was in affluent surburb. Most of the people under me were the girls that went to the super exclusive private girls school down the road. Never had food issues ever.

Hardees was absolute shit in the 90s, got pretty good in the mid-2000s (I think), and has been getting progressively worse ever since.

Most of the time you can't see what they are doing. I go into Taco Bell and you can see shit back in the food prep area. I go into a small mom and pop italian place that serves pizza subs and pasta and I can see what the beaners are doing. I go into a big corporate chain place and I can't see what the Americans are doing to my food.

It doesn't seem to matter from what I have seen. I live in county and in the suburbs. A place where some houses sell for $250,000. Most of the fast food places around me are still shit. It's mostly a pay a issue. The companies don't want to pay anyone to work there. They have never paid that well really. But they pay like shit and all it does is attract shit people. People who won't take the job seriously. You can't support yourself on what they pay. No one really wants those jobs. So all you end up with is mostly garbage people. Decades ago it would have been a bunch of teenagers screwing with your food Now all the teenagers are unemployed and it's people in their 20's 30's or older messing with your food. When I looked back into the food prep area a few months back in a local taco bell I didn't see anyone back that that was under the age of 20. The one guy looked like he was in his early 40's.

I remember that one story about that 18 year old that was pretending to lick the taco shells at Taco Bell. He stuck his tongue out towards the shells while someone took the picture. He posted it on social media. It was probably around 2013 or 2014. The Boomers on Facebook were like "he won't get another job". Myself and others told them yes he will. He will just go down the street and get the next available low paying McJob. Back in the Boomer days jobs used to pay enough for you to support yourself. The cost of living was also lower. So if you fucked around and did something stupid you would lose your job and be homeless. Now jobs were plentiful back then. Everyone has heard the "take this job and shove it" style stories from the Boomers and how they walked off of one job and went down the street and got another. That shit doesn't happen anymore. You have people sweating bullets about losing their minimum wage job at Walmart and then they won't be able to pay for their share of the rent in the 3 bedroom house they share with 5 other people.

Fast food has always been shit. People sit around and talk about how McDonalds back in the 70's and 80's is better than McDonalds now. My mom said McDonalds was always shit. That was before all this rose tinted reminiscing started.

McDonalds was like that in the mid 90's. Like around 94-96. They used have burgers and other sandwiches premade sitting in a rack under a heat lamp. But in the mid 90's McDonalds was having issues and they started making everything as your ordered it. Gone were the days of the premade sandwiches in the rack with the heat lamp. If you walked in to order something you would be told to step aside while they took another order. It used to be your ordered they gave you your food and you paid and walked away. Now you were waiting around for your food. People thought McDonalds was going to go out of business back then. That never happened obviously. You always hear stories about how X fast food place is having a hard time. But they stay in business. It's like I always say there will be two things that survive a nuclear war, roaches and McDonalds.

Really? I remember McDonald's being pretty shit in the 90s and they really got their act together to the point that they're the most consistent burger chain out there. It's mediocre food, but you know exactly what you're getting whether you're in Maine or Florida or Arizona.

That's pretty incredible when you think about the logistics involved.
