Seems there has been a leak of persona 3 remake being in the work. The reaction seems mix at the moment. Some people love it, other hate it for just buying the re-realese. Some are coping saying its fake.

Huh. I had completely dismissed the earlier rumours, but it looks like it’s true. I... don’t know how to feel about this. I already have FES, and the Portable re-release - low effort as it may be - has made the game available to anyone who wants it. I get that 3 has its faults, but I don’t think it merits a full remake, and certainly not after just re-releasing an older game.
Moreover this comes at the cost of shifting resources away from potentially original titles; I will be sorely disappointed if this is where Atlus has allocated its key staff.
Having recently played P3P on the XSX it does feel a bit dated and both protagonists are pretty much personality-free which makes some scenes awkward. Some of the social links are fairly lightweight as well.
Plus, the evenings have fuck all to do in them for a big chunk of the game.
It has a great story and a memorable main cast but a remake could flesh it out enough to feel like a new game.

I mean - go with whichever girl you like best. Although if you do choose Naoto, you should know that you need max Courage and Knowledge to initiate her Social Link and that there are a few choices that you need to make when talking to her. One is required to access her romance path, and another gets you a unique scene at Christmas.

I would rather they do what they did with Soul Hackers 1 and give us some titles that have been stuck in Japan. Or a Jack Bros. remake.

It looks real to me, the animation reminded me of p5 when attacking a shadow. Don't know why they didn't just make this remake instead of making a hd remake of an inferior copy of p3.

Naoto. She's only girl between 3, 4, and 5 who actually bothers to use a real gun.
As for a 3 remake, I probably won't get it unless the changes are drastic. There's stuff to like about 3, but I think its the weakest of the Persona games I've played.

Which unreleased game would you pick, though? Most are pretty niche and already have readily available fan translations.
Still, if I had to pick, I would go for SMT 1. Porting the PS1 version and adding voiced dialogue like Soul Hackers 3DS would make the most sense.

Maybe SMT if since it's supposedly the precursor to Persona but a nice package of SMT I & II like you described would also be nice.
Or the original Devil Summoner since it's stuck on the Saturn with moon runes.

Having Soul Hackers finally translated was a godsend, it was one of the first games I ever burned on a blank CD and played on my Saturn, following a shoddy GameFAQs English translation guide that I printed out, it was extremely frustrating but I loved the atmosphere of the game, and immediately played the 3DS version. Speaking of things that will likely never get a proper PC release/localization, not really SMT but still Atlus, I would give literally anything to see Princess Crown localized since it's one of the best games on the Saturn still, even though I don't read moonrunes.

I recently bought the first Devil Summoner for the Saturn and I don't even own one. It was cheap and I wanted to beef up my SMT collection but I want a version I can play.
