How often has this actually happened? There was the one time she kicked the guy out for live tweeting her talk, but he never said anything to her. Then there was the guy who did actually speak her but basically just disagreed with her and then left.

It's just the natural outcome when you put people into echo chambers and safespaces. They never "grow up" in that sense. Instead of introspection that leads them to ditch certain behaviours, they build their communities around fostering those traits while telling each other that's somehow the right thing to do and united they demand society to accommodate them - no matter how childish their behaviour, how fragile their egos are.
