It was a meme at one point where we made fun of people claiming there was a difference between people dying FROM Covid vs dying WITH Covid. And now almost 3 years later here is Chief CNN Covid Cheerleader Dr Leanna Wen finally admitting that they were counting anybody that died as a Covid death if Covid was in their system. Cancer? Nope, Covid. Heart Attack? Nope, Covid. Car accident? Nope, Covid. If you had Covid, and died, you died from Covid.

She's finally saying they need to stop doing that because it's fucked the data up to the point where it isn't usable. So the question is, what would an innocent explanation of that be? I call it lying, because that is what it was.

To answer your question about if I would prefer they keep lying vs finally coming clean - it honestly doesn't matter now. That's like finding out your wife was fucking around on you for years and gaslighting you about it and then it finally comes out and she says she'll stop. Now you're going to trust her? Good luck with that.

Which means that not only has a better methodology for tracking covid admissions been developed and put into practice by many hospital systems, it was developed nearly a year ago in this case. It's old news. It has been old news since 2021.

Our government, from top to bottom, is filled with exactly the sort of reflection one might expect from people primarily thrown into power on the basis of how much they can pander to ninth-grade sensibilities - and so the people conducting these studies both have to work around populations too lazy and retarded to grasp them... and governments too lazy and retarded to grasp them. If the world wants better, more efficient, more responsive governments - the world has to take that shape itself. They later on claimed the only reason this statement was made was to prevent people from buying up all of the masks. The article I linked to that you're too lazy to read goes on to cite internal emails surrounding the discussion of the intentional ruse on the public.

The video in the Yahoo News article? The NY Post doesn't have one. She says she's getting criticism from people on one side that "you should have said this two years ago," and on the other that "we're not overcounting them," and she goes on to say that transparency and understanding in who was dying from covid at the beginning of the pandemic and who is dying now is important in fostering trust in public health. She doesn't say anything in the minute and a half clip about overcounting itself.

In fact, all that talks about that in the Yahoo link is the headline and a still image over which Fox wrote that she explained "that the U.S. has been 'overcounting' COVID-19 deaths."

You didn't even watch a minute and a half video, dude. You literally just read the headline.

How do you know that's a lie and not a statement that Fauci made in earnest and later revised? I guess I just don't see how "Some public health officials disagreed or changed their positions on the usefulness of masks" adds up to a malevolent plot.

No worries, one of my friends has a special needs kid, I've learned to be patient with this sort of thing.

As far as evil goes, feel free to have that discussion with someone making that claim. I said he lied, and he did. You wanted proof, now you have it. I also said that when health officials lie to the public it does long term damage to the trust of those institutions, and it has.

So, your belief is that Anthony Fauci dishonestly said masks were useless against Covid so he could keep masks back from the general public for the use of healthcare workers. Is that accurate? Let me know if I'm misstating your beliefs.

Do you believe that masks are actually useful against Covid? Or do you believe Fauci's claims that masks are useful are dishonest/incorrect?
