Yet another reason nobody should take anything seriously that comes out of PenisNews.Hard not to think that this is part of a real and significant cultural shift. Corners of twitter are having a good afternoon.

The Charity Commission dijo:Mermaids’ objects are to relieve the mental and emotional stress of children and young people affected by gender identity issues and their families, and to advance public education about the same.
The Commission opened a regulatory compliance case into the charity in September 2022 after safeguarding allegations were raised. It has now formalised its engagement by opening a statutory inquiry, due to newly identified issues about the charity’s governance and management.
The Commission will investigate the regulatory issues to determine whether they indicate serious systemic failing in the charity’s governance and management. The trustees have fully cooperated with the regulator’s case, but their response has not provided the necessary reassurance or satisfied the Commission at this stage.
The regulator will seek to determine whether the charity’s governance is appropriate in relation to the activities the charity carries out, which involve vulnerable children and young people, as well as their families.
The inquiry, which opened on 28 November 2022, will examine:
It is the Commission’s policy, after it has concluded an inquiry, to publish a report detailing what issues the inquiry looked at, what actions were undertaken as part of the inquiry and what the outcomes were.
- The administration, governance and management of the charity by the trustees including its leadership and culture.
- Whether the trustees have complied with and fulfilled their duties and responsibilities as trustees under charity law; in particular whether they had sufficient oversight of the charity’s activities and compliance with its policies and procedures and in line with its charitable objects.
- Whether there has been any misconduct and/or mismanagement by the trustees.

- The Charity Commission is the independent, non-ministerial government department that registers and regulates charities in England and Wales. Its purpose is to ensure charity can thrive and inspire trust so that people can improve lives and strengthen society.
- The inquiry was opened on 28 November 2022 under section 46 of the Charities Act 2011. The opening of an inquiry allows the Commission to collect further information and establish the facts, potentially through use of statutory powers in order to inform its decisions about what regulatory action may be appropriate.
- The Commission has not reached any conclusions at this point and the opening of the inquiry is not a finding of wrongdoing. It will not be providing comment while the inquiry is ongoing.
Offered for your consideration, mermaids landing page this morning (tweet link below, but I can personally vouch for it as I accidentally landed there whilst trying to navigate here) and their current landing page, as of now. Will the TRAs blame an unfair and transphobic political climate or will they examine their souls? I wonder..
Okay- 1) no1curhaving been trooned out. it's like criticizing daisy's cigarette burns. fuck off.
The first three of the five paragraphs are about an inquiry Mermaids claim to have commissioned into themselves, and only the final one is obviously about the Charity Commission inquiry that has been announced today.Mermaids dijo:Earlier this year Mermaids decided to carry out a frank and honest appraisal of our internal culture and how we measure up in terms of equity, diversity and inclusion.
As part of this process, we commissioned an independent external report which highlighted a number of significant challenges for us.
We know we must do better and we are absolutely committed to doing so, and will be implementing the report’s recommendations as a priority.
The charity has an unwavering commitment to safeguarding which is, and always will be, our top priority.
We will continue to cooperate fully, openly and with complete transparency with the Charity Commission as its inquiry gets underway.
I have so much to say but no time. For now I will just quietly celebrate. Perhaps with Prosecco (Stormfront)?
The House of Lords received 6,000 complaints about Baroness Nicholson which she thinks were driven by Mermaids.
I wonder if the SI will reveal a culture of vindictiveness and bullying, whereby staff were instructed to organise against objectors?

In the hopes that Mermaids are mincemeat, I think this calls on my part for a quick raid on mince pies (and wine) at the local supermarket. For now I will just quietly celebrate. Perhaps with Prosecco (Stormfront)?
Personally I think Mermaids is liable to be much worse, especially in hindsight when we can be honest about child transition, than Kids Company. The truth of the matter there is quite sticky - here’s the Charity Commission inquiry report published in February 2022.I hope Mermaids burns to the ground much the he kids Company (which is run by a fat white women who wears traditional African clothes)
Well I was wrong, I did not see the charity commission actually taking any action let alone launching a full inquiry.Hard not to think that this is part of a real and significant cultural shift. Corners of twitter are having a good afternoon.

I suspect I will never truly get over the knowledge that there is someone out there in the great cosmos who is actually called Batman (ghelidjh).Batmanghelidjh
She’s so deep a believer in the GenderWooWoo I can imagine her embezzling funds to pay for other people’s kids to be castrated.I reckon there’ll be some hair raising instances of funds misuse by Big Sooz.
I also hope that this finally leads to the reputational downfall of self-aggrandising fox killing cunt Jolyon Maugham.

To give an idea of how significant this is, the charity commission launched a total of 17 inquiry's, and there's not a shortage of dodgy charities in the UK.

It's interesting how Mermaids are immediately bending over, and not pushing back. There's no accusations about the inquiry being motivated by 'transphobia' or 'hate'. They're making it clear in their statement that they're going to play ball.
I skimmed through a few of the inquiry reports on their website and a lot of them mention 'the previous CEO' and the trustees being 'misled'. So that might work for everyone.
I also notice that Mermaids aren't attacking the Times and Telegraph for their reporting any more, mermaids are probably hoping to stay off the print medias radar.
