If one of them ever had a UTI like Gomez, I'd have them at a vet within a day. I lost a (admittedly shitty, I was going to quit soon anyway) job in order to take one of these cats to an emergency vet due to issues with her eyes. If I had a dog or snake I'd do the same (even though I don't care much for snakes, if I had one you best bet I'd make sure that noodle was happy). They literally rely on you to live. A cat can't work for specific food needs. A dog can't raise money for a vet visit. If even one of the pets you own has a health issue and you can't afford the money to address it, YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE THAT PET. Simple fuckin' as.

We all likely know people whose housekeeping skills stink, but stil manage to keep their residence neat enough to be habitable and presentable. The feds just renewed the public health emergency, probably through April. The only benefit she'd get would be the extra $95 EBT, and that depends on if the governor asks for it (I doubt Alabama does). It also extends Medicaid coverage but I'm fairly sure she gets it anyway so no extra benefit.

Those kitties have shiny coats and look alert and energetic. If they're ultimately doomed to be euthanized, their last days will at least be spent in a clean environment, having their medical needs met, getting plenty to eat, and, if the shelter has volunteers, getting affection and socialization. There may even be staff and volunteers coordinating transport in order to get some of those cats transferred to other shelters where they can get adopted.

Healthy animals being put down because there are not enough willing adopters, and not enough space to keep them, and not enough volunteer foster homes to alleviate pressure on the shelter is a shitty reality for most municipal/county shelters. But having witnessed some of the horrible, can't-be-unseen things that happen to unwanted cats left to fend for themselves, or at the hands of neglectful or abusive owners, or in hoarding situations—I can accept it as the most humane option, despite hating the necessity for it.

It means a valid policy never existed & that being the case, any premiums paid have to be returned. Either it was rescinded as of the date of the crash after which the car was no longer driveable, which is what's supposed to happen and they returned her latest payment, or Pissa did a stupid and told the claims department that she doesn't understand why they aren't covering her claim, Joh drives it all the time. Upon learning that the vehicle was being operated illegally on a regular basis, they wash their hands of her because she did not follow the terms of her policy.
