Nunavut?! Ahhhhhhhhh!I thought cold weather could kill roaches!
Holy crap no. They are worse inside houses in the winter because they are looking for warmth. All pests are much much worse inside homes during the winter months.

I have a cockroach phobia I keep an immaculate house. When I lived in Alabama, I would have pest control spray the inside and outside of my home twice a month. It was still common to see the large palmetto bugs inside. They're about 1 to 2 inches long. One night, I saw one in my laundry room and it then flew across the room. I literately lost my shit and thinking about it now makes my skin crawl.
In the fall and winter, when the leaves are on the ground, you can walk to your car at night and you hear that rustling noise. The palmetto bugs are out in full force. This is honestly a big reason why I don't live in the South. Also, it's a hellhole full of idiots like Polissa and Joh.
In my current area, cockroaches are incredibly rare. I've only heard of people having them that live in apartment buildings and are filthy. I have no need to spray and I haven't seen a roach in years.
As others have said, you only get German cockroaches if you're filthy.

That said, when I was stationed onboard USS Last Ship, there was a huge cockroach problem at the 2nd campground I was at - was living in my camper instead of condemning myself to living aboard the ship while playing geographical bachelor. Solved that problem via boric powder sprinkled under the rig, raid sprayed on the tires, jacks, shorepower line and potwater hose every other week, and glue traps in the access areas. Had to change out the glue traps every 6th months and typically only had 1-2 of the bastards in it.
Point being, Pissa is a foul and disgusting slob and will have her trailer overrun with roaches within a few months of moving in, if they aren't there infesting the crawlspace of that dilapidated POS already.

FWIW that's been my experience in dense northern cities, too. Every building has roaches. The question is, can the efforts of the individual tenants and building maintenance keep them out of your unit?

In multiple unit buildings, the difficulty is the 'common spaces' through which piping runs. My trick: once a month, every 2 weeks in fall as temperatures cooled - I'd spray a good retail insecticide thoroughly onto those openings & it there was space to reach inside, (rarely), as far in as I could reach. It worked or seemed to. All I ever saw were a few silverfish in the bathroom late at night & a few potato bugs once in a while.

Very stupid lolcows love to respond to or rant about spam or ads. Polissa has responded to Trump parody accounts, GoFundMe bots, weight loss ads, and far more than I can remember off the top of my head. One of her most recent TikToks had her seriously responding to a spam comment about Covid vaccines in Europe

She’s genuinely confused versus realizing it’s just a stupid spam comment (pretty sure it came from one of her begging vids)
She’s gonna beg for things to fill the trailer with if she leaves everything behind because of the roaches. She might call them housewarming gifts or further air out her dirty laundry by lamenting she had to lose everything because her landlord wouldn’t hire an exterminator for five years. Even if the landlord didn’t or wouldn’t, she is obligated as the one actually living in the joint to help keep it habitable. That includes preventing infestations. Possible further evidence that either the landlord doesn’t know how bad it is or he knows and is evicting their asses by year’s end, and that’s why Polissa is so hard set on moving by Christmas. People can absolutely be evicted for all the ways Polissa and Josh have fucked up their place. I’m just surprised that they haven’t just abandoned it like other cows that destroyed their place have (Cecily Kellogg comes to mind).
Pissa is angy about Republicans today on TikTok.

In this particular episode, a fourteen year old girl is executed for having an affair on her much older husband with a teenage boy her age. And a Romeo and Juliet scene played out anyways. Serena finds the child's Bible. It was left hidden in her things. She remembered how to read. She took that Bible, Serena Joy did, before a council of men. Her own husband sat on that council. She had a group of the Wives behind her. She opened the Bible, and she asked that their daughters be allowed to learn how to read from it. to know what it says for themselves. And then she proceeds to read from the Bible to these men. Her reward for this little stunt? Her husband gave permission for her pinky finger to be cut off.
So don't think it's too farfetched. It's happening to the women in Iran. In the seventies they had total freedom. Then come now, 14,000 women are about to be killed just for taking off their hijab. Think about it.

That's just a nebulizer, it can have anything in it (including water)/can be bought OTC for relatively cheap. I think munchies think they look more legit for some reason, I guess they look more complicated than the standard asthma inhaler to them.
Asthma though, wonder if living in filth, mold, insect chitin, dust, and an animal hoard effects that...? Another self induced health condition woohoo...

Oh, hey, Polissa! You know what's a trigger for asthma attacks? COCKROACHES! Cockroach allergy is a thing, and it's really common among poor people living in filthy, substandard housing that is infested with them. When their saliva and shit is on every single thing you own, eventually the human immune system can only take so much.
That said, one thing cockroaches are constantly looking for is water, especially during the hot summer months. Letting an air conditioning unit leak water into the wall of a house all summer—enough to rot a hole in the siding—provides an abundant water source. So her bedroom has not only been her air-conditioned refuge through those long, hot Alabama summers, but an oasis for thirsty roaches as well.
I'm amazed she and Josh have survived this long, being as chronically stupid and willfully helpless as they are. Maybe their own DNA is part cockroach, so living in an infested house feels like having kinfolk around.

Finally loaded the transcripts to the most recently posted TikToks and if you haven't watched them, I highly recommend reading the transcript for the Handmaid's Tale fanart background one. It is... astonishing seeing her use a fictional example of a dystopia as how things will really happen if we allow Republicans to get power (and then piggybacks Iran, one of the actual inspirations for Handmaid's Tale, as a reason why Republican men bad).
A part of me still feels like Polissa euthanized Bella to take some of the load down from having over a dozen animals to take care of. Wouldn't be surprised if the same happened to Gomez. If he's not going to be given to someone that can properly take care of the poor bastard, though, then I think euthanasia is his best fate. Which is a shame because from what I've gathered he's only two years old. But he is suffering living with Polissa.
Considering how she tried to get someone to pay $300 to take Gomez to the vet (where I think he'll end up being abandoned or put down shortly after arriving ) after a rando sarcastically said they'd donate if they knew she'd do it, I reckon that's my guess.

I remember talk about it a few months ago but I forget the finer details — what is the AL situation with covid rent arrears/evictions now, are landlords starting to kick out non-payers again? Because I'd bet my bottom dollar that they didn't pay when they could get away with it, if the gubmint rent assistance money goes to them instead of directly to the landlord (idk how that works in Burgerland either)...

If landlords are raising rent across the country to make up for non payers, I’m pretty sure they’re getting to evict non payers (even if courts are backlogged to hell).
I’m surprised that Alabama kept pandemic EBT as long as it did. Georgia discontinued it in May, for example, because the state declared the pandemic all but over. Many states were similar. I need to double check if Polly is still getting her monthly $95 Jimmy Dean bonus but it’s probably done by now.
Po’lissa has really attached herself to munchie TikTok. Currently doing reaction videos to young kids going on SSI and reacting to telling a young disabled woman that she can’t get married because she’s disabled, as she’ll lose tugboat money.

Louisiana still gets PEBT but our covid numbers have stayed pretty solid the entire time. AL and MS are pretty similar with the obesity rate so I wouldn't doubt if their numbers are the same rate as ours. (ngl too lazy to research right now)

I lived in a big apartment complex some years ago that ended up with a roach infestation that all stemmed from from one tweeker pad.
When those people were evicted, the landlord told us that there were literally spilling out of the furniture. Regardless of how clean your apartment was, there were occasionally roaches in that complex. They ended up treating every apartment so after that no issues.
