Do you think Big Pharma is hiding the cure for diseases like cancer, aids, alzheimer, etc, so they can keep profiting from selling their medicines?

No. If it would be so unprofitable to sell the cure, why develop it in the first place?
You would only need to buy a cure one time, if you are always sick you need to constantly buy medicine.
As far as I know it's not even that expensive to develop them, and it's done by scientists that do not have the final word on how they will be used, the people that own the companies are not even scientists themselves they are business men and women.

If Pharma even thinks they have the cure for anything, it gets marketed to doctors, even if it does fuckall to actually cure the disease. They even explicitly don't develop drugs when they otherwise could (i.e. ebola cures) if they don't think there's a market.

Yes but other people will get sick and the chance they will get sick again as with the case of cancer. I'm not sure where you get the impression it's cheap to make them you still have to pay your scientists, their equipment, and materials used in research. Then you have to setup expensive trials for something that might not even work.

The big controversy over the fake alzheimer's research recently is they were spending billions annually in the wrong direction.

Big pharma is not really hiding anything. You can easily find people curing everything from severe frostbite to cancer with unconventional methods. For example there's this one over the counter drug that is being successfully used to cure cancer by hundreds or thousands of people - the original guy who wrote about it cured his brain cancer that was metastasising to multiple other organs. This drug prohibits tumors to grow in lab animals even if they get tumors transplanted into their bodies

The thing is that nobody really cares that much. Most people worship the Doctors as their gods, as should be evident to you after 2+ years of covid. The doctors now have the status that priests had in the middle ages. 99% of people won't even think that something can exist outside of the knowledge of the wise and benevolent Doctor. And outside of the 1% that remains, many are still incapable of doing a simple pubmed search. Big pharma really doesn't need to hide anything.

This is so retarded I don't even know where to begin, and it's not only "cheap" in relation to billionaires but it's done using tax money.
I didn't read all of this but here is something:

What drug?

And to actually contribute to this thread; shit like anxiety and depression are caused by lfiestyle and easily solved through diet and exercise.

I'm not sure how a document saying drug companies are money hungry supports your point. It would make more sense they would profit off their discovery than keep it for a couple of niche rich customers.

The chance they will get sick again just requires further medication, it’s not necessarily a “risk” when it comes to cancer. Unless your drug is absolute shit, it should be able to deal with a majority of the cancerous cells.

But what you are saying about Alzheimer’s is BS. We didn’t spend “billions in the wrong direction” because there have been tons of further studies on Alzheimers. The beta-amyloid molecule that the fraud study was on has been researched plenty of times in the past decades, no research company would gamble on something this big.

The real damage is just that people may trust science less, considering how this was a Nature article.

One of the biggest mistakes of modern medicine is assuming that all cancers have a “cure all” button. This kind of thinking caused a massive waste in money as people just did not understand that cancer was super complicated. Maybe they haven’t been spending much on cancer due to profit incentives, but it would be literally impossible to withhold a cure all for cancer, since it cannot exist.

It’s like lumping schizophrenia, gender dysphoria, and DID all into the same disease and thinking a magical cure works for them all.

Sell it to Rockefellers, Gettys and Rothschilds for millions?

But really, since medical breakthroughs can make careers and curing illnesses is supposed to be the aim of medicine, I would think that they wouldn't hold them back. But this is a world of greed so I wouldn't put it past anyone to do such an evil thing.

But I still don't feel like that is happening across the board.

Which incentivizes them to sell the drug rather than keep it secret. If you can cure someone's cancer with a drug they likely won't address the root cause of the cancer (unless it's genetic then you're sol). Think about how many would continue to smoke if you could cure lung cancer with a pill.

After the 2006 paper there was a lot of focus on the beta-amyloid theory and development of drugs trying to reduce accumulation of it. Considering that in 2022 29% of phase 3 trials were targeting amyloids I would say a significant amount of money went into drugs that didn't work.

The conspiracy angle is that the bolded part is on purpose. (((They))) don't actually think they're selling the doctors a cure, they're aware the drugs don't work and they release them specifically to obscure and cover for the fact that a real cure exists in shadowy backrooms only to be used on lizardmen of the tribe.

Hiding cures? Doubtful given how much you can charge for them. Most people would sign their souls over to be easily cured of cancer, there isn't a price people won't try to pay.

Making people sick/dependent intentionally and promoting drugs that don't help a person? Yah, I'd believe that, especially when it comes to drugs for non-life threatening illness. A whole lot of psychotropic drugs fall into this category.

They will still win more money by selling very expensive life long chemo-therapy and stuff to millions than one time cure to mildly wealthy ones
