It’s a bit like MtF, in that respect. Aidens are just as likely to claim they want a genuine cis gay partner, but in reality they’re terrified of actual, real men - as shown by how 99% of Aidens have never touched a real penis in their lives (unless it was an older family member’s), and why they only ever pair up with other Aidens. They don’t really want to be gay men, they just don’t want to be treated like women, so getting off on gay tropes is the only way they can ‘do’ sexuality without feeling shitty about themselves. They have no idea about life as a male, it’s all about out-performing “maleness” to other Aidens. What they’re actually doing is the same competitive shit the pretty and popular girls do with make-up and clothes. It’s bitchy, in-crowd one-upmanship, and those with the biggest scars and rot dogs win. Meanwhile, gay guys are left standing outside the bathroom, asking each other if that girl is still in there, crying
.MtF compete against each other too, but they’re far more aggressive towards real women. In typical male socialised form they rage, knowing they can never be a real woman and that even the most haggard of old bags exudes more natural femininity than the hons. And Aidens are shit scared of them, because they’re all the classic male stereotypes that remind Aidens of just how female they are.
