At this point Phil is in a threeway parasitical relationship with da trollz and his audience. He needs the trolls to give him wheelchair squad an enemy to rally against and feel like they are saving Phil, and this allows Phil to never have to engage with his audience on any kind of meaningful level. Phil needs his trolls to exist, and at this point if they all disappeared overnight he would still act like they existed so he could get pity bux.
A Dance with Dragons is also unbeliably dense, even by GRRM standards, due to the whole Meereenese knot which is nearly the whole fucking book so there's not a chance of him even reading a single chapter. Although he should have, given GRRM also has a scat fetish and there's the famous "Dany has diarrhea" scene.
