Between TRT, steroids, HGH, and vaping (certain flavors cause heavy metals like lead, mercury, cadmium etc. from the coil/atomizer to leech into the e-juice) he's definitely not quick on his feet comedically any more, and then there's the fact that he's surrounded by a bunch of yes men that have inflated his ego to the point where his sketches aren't even edited past stitching shots together. Most of the new "MDE" stuff with Nick is 10 minutes of filler around maybe 3-5 zingers. The WP "you tripped my wife" sketch and the gumroad vineyard sketch is a perfect example of this.

You know what after writing the above the biggest problem is the length of his sketches. HWD was genuinely funny most of the time, even if it also suffers from the filler/length issue to a degree, and a small degree at that

And unrelated, for someone who's supposedly obsessed with how video looks, his team is doing a shit job with that stuff. Their encodes are full of blocking artifacts, the video is over-sharpened, the grain doesn't match any sort of film stock I've ever heard of/seen (and if I was autistic enough to check it probably doesn't even match the frame rate of the video underneath it. I **am** however autistic enough to notice that the image underneath the grain should be softer and slightly warmer when you're trying to emulate actual film), and everything is over-exposed or has the contrast turned up WAY too high. If the fastest CPU in my household wasn't an AMD FX 8350, I'd do all of the post editing stuff like color grading, simple VFX like grain and other film artifacts (for lack of a better word, I mean it in a positive way), and encoding myself FOR FREE because it looks like such a shit attempt at "high quality" video. I probably have more experience in this area because of my fansubbing (I had to deal with encoding shit DVD releases and raw Japanese transport streams that changed interlacing schemes and frame rates every 10 minutes) and private tracker days than any of the crew, Sam included, anyway, And why can't one of his zoomer slaves hold a fucking boom mic? Why do I have to be subjected to shit audio when I'm paying for this shit (I'm not but I did for a good while)?

tl;dr he's never been the sharpest tool but managed to strike gold in terms of "getting" the zeitgeist of a certain era, but then he went full meathead and cares more about clout, money, cars/bikes and being worshiped by people 20 years younger than him

Sam Hyde claims he maxed out a bunch of credit cards to buy Bitcoin back in the day and got lucky his degenerate gambling paid off and thought he was the next Warren Buffett. So then he was shilling crypto extremely hard and going all in all the way through the peak and even during the crash. Honestly there isn't much on Sams personal life available its mostly scattered information the only way to obtain that is through Sam himself and I haven't found anything conclusive. Some people say he is a trust fund kid and comes from money. Regardless if he can afford to pay clippers 54k a year you can bet he has enough for that to be disposable plus all the other people on his payroll. As for the debt I doubt it exists he most likely said it as a shitpost. Kinda like how he claims he rented this car destroyed it and returned it to Enterprise. This is pretty funny though regardless this isn't what people do that don't have the money for it.
 
My favorite part of the modern Sam saga was when he and his wigger crew all mocked the fans for shitting on The Great War. That PGL episode pissed the fans off badly, every comment section was pissed at them, and Sam had to make Nick a regular on the podcast immediately after to stop hemorrhaging gumroad subscriptions.

I would post examples from the youtube comments sections, but a number of The New Pill videos, including the clip of Sam and the crew shitting on fans, seem to be missing now.

My favorite part is when he gives advice. I hope he gives me more of that incredible, funny, based and third-eye-opening good advice in video form. The added funny thing with this is he knows the only comedic value he has left is getting into a boxing match with Hasan. Sam knows he hasn't done a laugh out loud funny skit in ages and only can make people laugh by being Sam Hyde the character getting into some whacky hijinks involving other internet morons.

I found and linked an article in the NYT from the 80s about the marriage of his parents that talked about his fathers wealth and estate, his father is a multimillionaire doctor/lawyer for Yale, and expert in his fields. He was born into extreme wealth and his father took care of he & his mother his entire life, this thread exploded but the first 30 pages or so have a lot of relevant sources.
