This image reminded me that I was reading about Dr. Kevorkian yesterday and one of the common complaints against him was that he spent very little time with his patients before recommending them assisted suicide. A number of his patients weren't even terminally ill, were improving, and some weren't even in any pain. It reminded me a lot of the modern troon psychs who jump to dysphoria diagnoses shockingly quick. The only difference is Kevorkian eventually went to jail and sort of answered for his crimes, the doctors of today trooning out patients with the affirmation model won't face any consequences.

I am gonna sperg a bit because this has been on my mind for a while but I didn't know where would I put this, until seeing this;
Honestly, these recent political takes of "Islam and Middle East is pro trans, lgbt and abortion" and "Middle East is more progressive than USA" is a such weird cope.
Did people really forget that this religion was founded by a barbaric nonce that wanted to genocide the non-believers?
Did people also forget that in Middle East they force gay men to transition or get thrown of a building, weaponize troons to catfish gay men into outing themselves?
What about a year ago, how the same people who are pushing tranny rights and other lefty beliefs now
were losing their minds over Taliban taking over the goverment. With the first thing they did was completely abolishing any rights and the right for education for women
and young girls? Well fuck that I guess! They can just become hecking enbies! I guess those young women and girls don't matter anymore because they don't benefit your agendas anymore.
The person in these tweets is so fucking tone-deaf and lacks self-awareness.
The fact that, young girls there have to crossdress to have some form of regular childhood, that isn't about adults teaching them how they need to be submissive to their man (who usually gets picked for them)

Yes, one common reason girls become bacha posh in Afghanistan is because the adult men in a family have been killed off and the family only has daughters, so they literally need someone to crossdress because women aren't able to go out by themselves. They need someone to escort the female family members and maybe do some child labor so that the others don't starve. Another reason is that it's more prestigious to have at least one son in the family, so they'll just dress up one girl so they don't have shameful all-female offspring.
The practice is also decided by the parents (so, not an example of the child's pure gendered soul) and ends at puberty.
Wonderful example of flourishing gender fluidity, sign me up!
The grossest part of shit like this is that, since it's supposedly possible for a girl to turn into a boy in Afghanistan at will, it implies all the Afghan women who haven't changed gender are agreeing to their own oppression because... it's just too much effort to cut their hair and put on pants?

A lot of the newer toiletz here in the US use a lot less water. Not quite as little as the European toilet in the picture here, but not much more. Means, among other things, that it doesn't overflow if it's clogged.
Impossible to know if this is a joke or not. Definitely insane.

I think the style of toilet on the right usually uses more water than the US style - it's just that the trap/U-bend retains less water in between flushes. In the European style, the flush water comes in from all directions around the rim and centres on the hole in the middle, unlike the US style where the flush water come in from below and creates a whirlpool as after it overbalances . (Also the "European" style is really the "British" style which has taken over the rest of Europe - the Germans used to have a kind where you "shat on a shelf" and it washed to a hole at the front of the toilet, and the French used squat toilets, at least in public facilities).
This seems like a clear-cut case of "Everyone must acknowledge how special I am at all times by accommodating my whims, the more absurd the better."Impossible to know if this is a joke or not. Definitely insane.

Wait, he's working on a doctorate in literature and he complained about only having six hours to read 400 pages? I know I'm being autistic right now, but how is a literary PhD candidate that slow of a reader? I'm not a speed reader but I can knock out about three hundred pages in about three-four hours. According to Kindle the average reading time of most of my books (all of which fall between 250-350 pages) is between 3-4 hours. I saw those numbers when I read my first book on Kindle so I know that's not my average speed.
Am I out of touch, or is it the children that are wrong?
