I used to be a fan of Cr1tikall/Penguinz0, but every new video I see makes me hate him more and more. The vast majority of his content of the last two years has been reciting a common opinion as if its quirky or insightful.
Recently he made a video titled "The Worst Line in Movie History" where he makes fun of a famously bad line from Fifty Shades of Gray. Fifty Shades of Fucking Gray, a movie that came out seven fucking years ago. A movie- and a line of dialogue- so ubiquitously hailed as bad that even Shoe0nHead made fun of it during her review of the movie with her then-boyfriend Armored Skeptic. Its a line of dialogue so commonly derided that there are videos of it with over 100,000 views. And yet, somehow, Cr1tikal decides its a good idea to waste everyone's time by making a video seven years late about how this piece of dialogue is not good. No new insights, nothing of substance to say, just "haha bad line haha".
This isn't a new occurrence. Videos like this are reflective of Cr1tikal's average output of content. Reciting old and established opinions as if they are interesting and original. Worst of all, his videos are popular. They get millions of views. He has a large, established following who eats this shit up.
It shouldn't bother me as much as it does, but every time I see a shitty new Cr1tikal video drop with 500k+ views within a few hours I get a little angry. Videos with asinine titles like "Netflix Needs to Stop" and "Why is Halo 2 Legendary So Hard". Does Netflix NEED to stop, Charlie? Will the fucking world end if they don't stop? Do you really not know why Halo 2 Legendary is hard? Is it really such a fucking mystery as to why a fifteen year old game that everyone acknowledged had balancing problems with the campaign mode would be difficult to beat?
