Probably a stupidly fancypants way of describing the smallest stalks at the center of every bunch of celery. Premium mediocrity, in other words—which should be the name of this fucking boat, after seeing all the scrubbable, hoseable, plasticky faux-luxury of the interior. Then again,
M/V Premium Mediocrity sounds like it could be a spacecraft from Iain M. Banks' Culture novels, and is therefore infinitely too cool for this soulless monstrosity.
ETA: does Anna/do deathfats really find food that entertaining or is it just that every other activity is closed off to them.. eating too much junk food seems utterly boring as the main event
If she didn't find food that entertaining, she wouldn't be the size she is. But between her size, her mobility issues, and her lack of stamina, I can't imagine there are many activities she could participate in, even when they're technically accessible. What's she going to do, go dancing? Participate in games? Go explore parts of the ship that aren't along the shortest route between her and the next meal?
I suspect the ship, and all of its bars, food venues, and other attractions, might not have been fully operational on this cruise; I think we would have seen Anna in a lot more bars, drinking a lot more tacky, silly drinks, if they were. It may have been a much more limited and controlled experience than a regular cruise, one that let the crew do a trial run for eventual paying passengers, while giving influencers enough of a preview to effectively hype it.

Not a peep about any other aspects of the cruise. Only videos of her shovelling down every item on the menu from every restaurant. And she seriously doesn't understand why she's a 600lb lardbarge - she closed her Apple rings for those days you guys! It's a mystery!!

Watching her stuff her face has never been so dreary and depressing. The worst was while wearing those ridiculous daisy mouse-ears at Epcot, but the whole cruise worth of meals and snacks and too many desserts going into her maw makes me want to go full accelerationist, because fuck this shit; we deserve to collapse.
Creeping up that long incline, I was like, "Can you stop assaulting me with screens and noise, just this once?" But once let loose, into that clear tunnel where you could actually SEE THE FUCKING SEA AND SKY, instead of a molded/extruded/laminated and easily scrubbable/hoseable plastic fantasy hellscape, I thought, "I would totally ride the shit out of this—" and then it was over. You spend more time in that tunnel, getting blasted by random, fractured, decontextualized scenes of Mickey Mouse cartoons, than you do on the actual part of the ride you came for. Fuck that shit.
