> I generally pass, people usually don't know I'm trans unless I tell them
why is this never true

I read a funny post on a Gaiden subreddit that I really should post here.
Gayden was smugly “living stealth” in some fast food joint, euphoric about “just being one of the guys”.
Suddenly a manager some day asks her, why she chose to become a he.
BOOM! Illusions come crashing down all around the poor girl.
She tried to convince herself that this was all because another manager who knew had told them, blah blah, cope, cope. But then the Manager goes: “Oh yeah, I knew right away! Because of the voice. Also just kinda had a feeling you know!”
Poor Gaiden fights back tears and the urge to flee, like any manly bro always does. Finally when her shift is over she RUNS home to jump on the hug box and share.
NGL: I felt a tiny bit bad for her. Couldn’t have been fun to realize that all the people around you, who you assumed believed you were a man, we’re just playing along because they’re nice.
But this is what Reddit hug boxing get you. Unrealistic expectations about unlikely outcomes, instead of giving you the tools to deal with life as is.
If SCOTUS ends up overturning gay marriage on a federal level, do you all think that would be the catalyst for the LGBT movement to get their shit together again? Since they'd actually have a hill worth dying on.
Doubt it.
What does gay people have in common with fetichists? People who want to be men with lesbians.
It’s already cracking at the seams over Roe vs Wade.
A lot depends on how SCOTUS does it of course. For example, they could keep marriage an exclusive institution for men and women, since it’s ultimately a church/religious matter AND at the same time institute some kind of recognized federal partnership, that bestows the homos the same legal rights as married couples.
That way everyone get something they want. The gays can get their tax deductions and legal rights that married couples enjoy, and religious people can keep their exclusive marriage club and don’t need to worry about homos showing up and demanding to be married.
It’d be a decent compromise that would make everyone who just want to live their lives happy.
