This thread talks about albums that don't meet up to the quality of the artist you admire. I'll share some of mine.
Sounds of the Universe in my opinion is the worst album from Depeche Mode, I wouldn't call it terrible but it's definitely under the quality of their other albums (especially Violator and Music for the Masses). It has a few really good songs (like Wrong and Peace) but most of these songs are forgettable, some of the songs of that album being their worst ones. I still have yet to finish Delta Machine and Spirit but these albums look promising compared to the one I mentioned.
I'd also have to agree with the rest of the Radiohead fanbase and say that Pablo Honey is their worst album. I could understand why they say it's inferior compared to their other albums. Pablo Honey felt like a cliché alternative rock album that appears no different from others and the reasoning has to do with the fact that Radiohead never figured out their signature sound yet. I do really like the songs "Creep" and "Blow Out" though. The Bends was a massive improvement from Pablo Honey and that was the album where their talent and signature sound really began shining through. The King of Limbs was decent in my opinion.
I've also listened to Elvis Presley's worst album. "Having Fun with Elvis on Stage", yes the one with no music and just talking. I wonder what's even the point of this? Elvis Greatest Shit is like the compilations of Elvis's hidden gems from his career, basically a compilation of his most embarrassing songs. I've heard some songs from the album and is weird as hell, definitely not on the quality of Elvis's beloved songs. I admire that man who made that bootleg album in the first place, these songs are really quite the gems.
I'm also aware of Squeeze by The Velvet Underground but I haven't gone to listening to it yet but people say it's bad and when I listen to it, I'd probably understand why.
Lastly. Cut the Crap by the Clash. The Dictator by the Clash is literally the worst 80s song I ever heard. This is England is a good song but it's only one of around three tolerable songs on the album.
