Honestly, ANN has no business making a strip like this. Back in the 2000s, they were the closet elitists too proud to associate with "plebian anime fans" while hoping to suck up to old guard "animation and comic book buffs" who were too proud to admit that their respective media shot themselves in the foot for money and took it a foot up the butt and the mouth from the FCC and the Morality In Media groups by the time the next millennium came around. And as we all know, ANN blames Japan not catering to "Hollywood's interests and its standards" as to why "anime isn't getting me laid for my hobbies, boo hoo hoo".

Out of sheer boredom I tried to find out what the ethnic national origin of the weird ass Sevakis surname was because it was bizarre to me that it seemed like the family members never mentioned what country it comes from despite Justin and his sister bringing up the fact they are half Chinese all the time. Even people at the true crime forums talking about Suzanne Sevakis had trouble with this last name and came up with multiple false suggestions for an ethnic origin.

This is an extremely obscure surname. I'm pretty sure every occurrence of it comes from the same family tree of immigrants since it's so rare. It was really hard to track down, and there were a number of red herrings. Turns out it's Lithuanian, and dipshit's ancestor came over from there at some point, more specifically the part that was annexed by Russia at the time in the late 1800's. This might have gotten so confused because I think Sevakis' grandfather was orphaned and it's probably an Americanization of the name, Saveikis. So yeah more useless information about this asshole everyone.
