I wonder if the main point of Byuu's whole plan wasn't really the "pretending to be dead" part, but the "recieving attention from internet people" part.
If he really doesn't have any real life friends, maybe twitter users criying about his supposed death is the best thing he can get in regards to human appreciation. It may make him feel respected and loved like he has never been in his life.
Obviously, the internet people don't actually care and will forget about him, 5 minutes after publishing a post showing how much compassion they have for this poor, marginalised, talented programmer. But I don't think he's sane enough to realize how empty and meaningless those words are.

Tbh I'm less mad and more sympathetic to byuu himself than the slimeballs who latched themselves onto this idiot "cause," because I can't really ascribe what happened after he pulled this shit as actually intended. He really painted himself into a corner here.

I do think he intended harm, but I don't think he really thought out the long-term consequences. It was a fucked up thing to do and he was mental.

My guess was, and still is, that he was acting on behalf of other people who have more dirt here, and "on behalf of the online trans community as a whole".

He was already looking to get away from the internet because he was having other issues, and they saw that as an opportunity and pushed him to basically run with a plan where they'd all pretend he killed himself so he could get away and they could try to damage or take down Kiwi Farms.
