I’m not even sure why you’d call this an analogy. Schools have many different resources for children and their developmental needs. If anything, I’m confused as to why she’s putting too much information about this on the forums. She couldn’t talk to her director about this face to face?
The context was her arguing in favor of Seven Seas allowing translators not to work on series that make them uncomfortable. Which, as long as you aren't crying that the series in question should be censored/unlicensed, that's fine.

FFS can you just shut up about Kodomo no Jikan, I don't think the Seven Seas union wants you making the conversation about how you're still pissed Seven Seas doesn't cater to pro-censorship.

The sad thing is, this trash and its ilk did win in regards to that series, it's still in "limbo" as to whether or not they'll ever publish it in the USA.

Of course we know thanks to this bitch and her kind, they aren't going to.
I think it's so sad they have nothing better to do than obsess over a manga that at this point is like 10 plus years old.

Bitch, I got over the fact it's never coming out, why haven't you? (You fucking won!?!)

But with this crowd, enough is never enough. 🙄

They can laugh at all of us, but the reality remains, they are still but spectators and are completely replacable by much better people, and Japan still isn't bending backwards to these ugly americans.

Cope and seethe, terminally online losers.

The best part is no one fucking cares about Seven Seas' or its retard staff. They lost goodwill a long time ago.

The fact these worthless gaijin no-talent nobodies in a tiny niche industry think they can unionize is hilarious in and of itself. Yeah, good luck with that. I look forward to your future endeavors in finding real jobs.

Seven Seas is a smaller company, right? I thought unions were for larger blue-collar businesses. An older job I had was part of one, but they didn't do much outside of charging me for union dues. Also, the clause about working on titles that makes them uncomfortable gives a good explanation of why they censored in the first place, so this is a concerning move. Is this so that the translators get a steady paycheck and vacation time while barely doing any work? This will mess up their mature titles that aren't BL or Yuri. Looks like scanlations will win again or just fire these freelancers and hire scabs that are willing to do the work faithfully. It's just words and illustrations, I don't see what the big deal is. Fuck it, Seven Seas might as well release Kodomo no Jikan just to make them seethe. Didn't Digital Manga Inc. release it digitally? I know they shut down but still sold their titles through amazon and had a kickstarter for the series.

Most of the people doing these kinds of things are now SJW Twitter attention whores, many at some stage of trooning out, with no concept of the real world who have drank the koolaid on leftwing rhetoric regarding labor. So that's why they think they can unionize I guess. Also Seven Seas was dumb enough to be headquartered in Commiefornia. There's no way a business this small where the work is traditionally performed by freelancers is going to unionize. There's zero chance.

Even for big companies, modern unions are a meme, and people have to be seriously naive to not understand they are usually a scam ran by gangsters, commonly of the stereotypical Italian variety who may team up with African Americans for a middle-management buffer, to fund their operations. That's how it's done where I'm from anyways.

Anyways, I see this as good news somehow. It pits the SJW retards that currently do this kind of work and leftwing SJW sites like ANN against genuine business interests by people that got so used to getting what they want that think they can ignore the complaints of their customers. Let them fight it out.

Yeah, and that too pissed off the crowd because they plain don't want KnJ legally available at all. Brainchild129 herself wrote an entire blog post about it.

Ironically, the union does acknowledge that as a shortcoming:

Although they do want to push for freelancers to have protection and benefits too.

Seven Seas just got caught localizing a crossdresser/femboy/otokonoko into a troon in such a heavy-handed way that even other troons are calling them out for it. Then again, when you advertise the manga as being for alphabet people instead of saying anything about the story/characters/comedy, I guess we should have seen it coming. Regardless, I can't imagine stuff like this will be a positive for the longevity of their translators, especially with all the union retardation- SS seems fed up with them already and having everyone, including online trannies, calling them out will only hasten their departure.

People are still shilling for these faggots. Holy fuck, someone needs to make a 7 Seas fuck-up list.

They censored and rewrote content for the Classroom of the Elite, I'm in Love with the Villainess and Mushoku Tensei light novels. Seven Seas vaguely addresses this on their website, but just as text changes for the reprints. And they want a union? Ha!

They were called out and apologized to ANN. https://archive.ph/IPT5g The constant excuse every localizer and translator uses is that the dialogue isn't always 1:1 but you sure as hell can keep it close to its original meaning without using it as an excuse to change the story because you don't like the content.

"Localization is not a science"

Yes it is. It's called translating the damn word, not trying to guess authorial intent because you're assmad your MA in foreign language didn't get you the overseas literary journal editor job you thought you deserved and you're stuck translating media you view as beneath you aimed at people you hate.

Seven Seas probably has their "favorites" or whatever because they released both Devilman and Cutie Honey, and as far as I can tell, those two were left untouched despite their much more problematic material (Honey literally gets molested, and maybe finger-banged by an old man and a kid when she disguised herself as a nude fountain statue). Do they have different people working for different translation departments or something?
