Someone whose insight I greatly respect pointed something out to me recently, and I think it applies here.
We have two things happening:
First, on Madlow's Hierarchy of Needs, physical safety and security are towards the bottom, and self-actualization is at the top, right?
Now consider the trans party line of "Transition and affirmation or suicide" and the "Would you rather have a dead son or a living daughter?" thing. Basically they're conflating affirmation/actualization with basic survival.
Second, we live in a time where society is expected to care for the individual, but the individual is considered selfish if they look out for themselves (unless they're part of a protected class).
This means that if a person who identifies as trans does not receive validation or treats from the people around them, they have been "failed by their social circle".
This dynamic puts the onus on other people and is possibly why turns minority and victim status are desirable things right now; they "entitle" you to more care from "your community".

Oh boy, you obviously haven't been paying attention to the Hugo or Nebula winners for the last decade or so. Winning a Hugo is no longer a guarantee of quality. In fact, it almost is the opposite.
I'm not going to defend Unknown Number. It's shit. It's self-indulgent, cheesy, and boring. But it's not really any worse than 2014 winner The Water That Falls On You From Nowhere and is at least shorter and more original. And it's way better than 2016 winner Cat Pictures Please which would be a solid C in an 8th grade English class. That isn't to say that all of them are bad. I really liked 2020 winner As the Last I May Know.
And technically he hasn't won yet. Can you imagine the AGP smirk he'll have when he does?

This is something I used to do back when I was on the cusp of peaking, but was constantly being annoyed by one specific TRA on a forum I was on. He would constantly demand the moon for trannies because if they didn't get it they would kill themselves; you're committing murder by telling him that he should stop encouraging a teenager on the board to move to Russia with him so they could claim asylum together in Sweden! And every time he would cry about trans suicide rates I would post this link.

It seemed to be one of the few things that would get through past his shield of self-righteousness and make him hesitate to bring up the suicide threats.
Even for a TRA he was stupid (he claimed he had a 120 IQ by virtue of being a transbian because of a study on straight vs gay TiMs where the transbian population had an average IQ of 120), so maybe this tactic won't work if the tranny is remotely intelligent, but it's a tactic that I wish would get used more, just pointing out how obviously their behavior resembles more traditional abusers.
While the long autistic rants that we get into here (and which I'm writing right now) are fun, I'm not sure they do much to convert anyone who wasn't already on the fence. Keep it simple, stupid! Something that doesn't need any elaboration is better than a textbook explaining exactly why you're right.

This is exactly the silencing method that people once use on underaged victims of Catholic priests.
