FYI, in Japan, tattoos are usually associated with yakuza/Japanese mafias. But that's an old belief, i've seen plenty of alternative women and men with heavy piercings and full body tattoos working or hang out in Harajuku/Akihabara/Shibuya areas (which are alt fashion/weebs hotspots in Tokyo) and they never run into any trouble afaik.

Slightly OT but it's interesting to me how much both troons and this nonsense use the languages of self-help and self-actualization. "Growth, faith, healing, true self, new ways of seeing the world". This is the language of The Secret, Eckhart Tolle and the like. It's obviously templated from religious speech, but with a nebulous feel-good vagueness at the center replacing any actual philosophical or theological thought. Pseudoprofound bullshit, in other words, cargo culting religion (mostly Christianity mixed with Buddhism) to sell books and products to rubes. I guess in a way troonism is an outgrowth of that movement.

It is interesting actually, that in western world where hearing voices is a huge taboo and treated as a negative thing people tend to hear scary and negative voices, but in cultures where hearing voices is seen as neutral thing or even as a blessing, like ancestors giving advice or something, the people who hear voices hear positive voices
