Missed the start, unfortunately, started watching after lap 14. Why was Sainz out?
I'm happy for Leclerc, he deserved that win, stellar performance all around. Perez on 2 is always welcome and Russel finishing before Hamilton (and getting his first "real" podium) is icing on the cake.
Small things like Schumacher beating his teammate is also kinda nice.
Too bad Vettel did a Vettel-thing, I guess he still needs to get the hang of the car, but this whole weekend was a terrible performance by him.
Verstappen out due to some technical issue sucks too. I was looking forward to a close championship between two stellar drivers, but the gap grows. When RB gets their shit together quickly, we might still get our tight championship.
When Hambone is winning, it's because he's the greatest driver of all time. When he's losing, it's because the car is a bucket of shit.
It's frustrating and infuriating. The Merc was an unbeatable car for almost a decade, yet Hamboon fanboys will pretend that their precious prima donna won
in spite of Mercedes, cause they don't wanna admit that the car was always strong. Oh no. Hamilton is just that fucking amazing, that he won
in spite of Mercedes. They must artificially heighten his achievements, cause merely winning isn't enough. Hamilton must win
against all odds, even though the odds have been stacked in his favor any season he drove for Mercedes thus far. His fanboys think his hardest season was 2020 for crying out loud.
It always reminds me of the rules to spot quackery tbh. Especially the one about "If you get healthy after taking the miracle-product, it's thanks to the miracle-product, if you stay sick, it's due to your own disbelief in the miracle-product".
Now he said the team put him in a difficult position. What would that be? Pitting him before the safety car can't be it, cause that's well outside the team's ability to predict.
Hamilton is always trigger happy to insist that the team let him down and if I was his engineer or strategist, I'd be telling Wolff to reel fuckface back in or I'll glady go to another team and offer them my services if they promise me not to allow their drivers to shittalk my speckless performance in public.
I’ll take my neg ratings but I’ll admit I’m 100% new to the sport after getting hooked by watching the last few races of the last season, and I’m picking drivers to follow solely based on car color. But I’m enjoying it a lot.
Most pick their favorite drivers by nationality (ie: whoever is closest to their own), picking them by car color is fine.
If you pick them by skin-color of the drivers however... well.
just kidding, enjoy your stay, you joined the F1 circus at the right time, it seems!
ALBON SIGMA NEVER PIT ON HIS SCHUMACHER GRINDSET
Really makes me wonder, what would happen if you don't change tyres. If the penalty is getting 10s added to your race-time, Albon would have been better advised to take that penalty rather than losing 20s during a pitstop. But it was a really strong performance by Albon, almost 60 laps on hard tyres, still staying competetive to the end and then even getting a point. Pretty good. Latifi in the same car on the other hand . . .
At this rate, it'll be Mercedes in a difficult situation rather than Hambone. Do they allow George to take the WDC fight up to Charles, or do they bend the knee?
I wonder what kind of contract Russel has. If I was him, I'd go for a clause that states that I am allowed to finish before Hamilton under certain circumstances (such as: leading in championship points). If something like that is the case, Merc might still put their eggs in Hambone's basket before every race, but allow Russel to perform unrestricted during the race.
Sooner or later, maybe 2-3 races at this point, they will need to focus on the driver with the most points out of sheer necessity. Maybe they even already got some clause that by a certain race, they will back the driver with the most points. Russel so far has outperformed Hamilton to some degree, if this keeps up, Hamilton will be in a difficult position and it won't be his team's fault. Looking forward to Merc drama.
