It's another example of the non-TRA argument being hobbled because they have unfortunately conceded to the foundational premise "Transwomen are women", like I talked about here.

The people arguing against transwomen in women's sports usually resort to using phrases like "male puberty" to explain why transwomen competing is unfair, which then leads to TRAs saying stuff like "well that's another argument for puberty blockers!"

When in fact the reason that transwomen should not be in women's sports is not that they are 'women who have tragically been through male puberty,' but that they are men. Unfortunately this very obvious statement of fact is still unspeakable, so people in respectable society are forced to use inferior arguments.

This is what confuses me when I see people in, say, r/medicine say that puberty blockers have been found safe in ‘cis kids’. They haven’t! It’s not even slightly a secret that it’s bad, nor is it hard to find adult women who have been prescribed it for endometriosis or adult men who have been prescribed it for prostate cancer talking about how awful it is. Anyone who says it’s a safe drug is simply lying to you, because it’s extremely well known that it isn’t.

Even plastic surgeons aren't free from troon violence. A surgeon had his clinic burned down by a troon who wasn't satisfied with his new Amhole.

Talking to an 11 year old and talking to a 15 year old are usually two entirely different experiences, because one has a “kid brain” and one has a brain that is on its way towards adult intelligence (even if it’s still behind in a lot of things).

Gender theory in general is pretty grounded in extreme mind/body dualism though (“born in the wrong body”, one’s “true self” being male or female despite the sex of one’s body) so it doesn’t surprise me that there is no room in their paradigm for hormones affecting intelligence and cognition.

Yeah, it's almost like they've never even met a child/teenager before, let alone interact with one. Unless they're terminally online I guess. A normal person would see an 11 year old or 15 year old and communicate with them very differently too, so we even subconsciously see that they're different in their level of brain development. But how does one communicate with a 15 year old who just got taken off puberty blockers? Especially since in some places, they're old enough to get their first job. That's a biiiig jump in 4 years.

And it's not like a 9 or 10 year old would even be able to grasp the concept that there is no changing your gender, but because they're manipulated into this BY ADULTS who know this fact whether they outright will admit it or not. In 20 years it'll be even worse because these adults now will just deny accountability and instead point fingers because they have an infirm adult that they created.

Not gonna lie, I worry about my future kids with all this shit going on. Despite everything I would still say I'm more liberal than conservative but I'm constantly worried about what my kid might pick up from people when I'm not around and how they might get their brain fucked with. I know you're supposed to love your children unconditionally but I don't know what I'd do if mine turned into one of these internet perverts.

Well, yes, of course. One is a (mostly) goofy story about a goofy rubber* pirate, which brings joy to millions of people worldwide and creates rivers of cash. The other is composed of mentally ill freaks, pedos, and fetishists, who want to mutilate themselves into a lifetime of expensive medical dependency and groom others into doing the same.

Yes, it's one of the more dangerous disingenuous arguments that they make. It seems likely based on research in other groups that blocking androgens leads to small but measurable cognitive impairment. It's not as big a deal in a 70-year-old prostate cancer patient who has already made their bag and raised their family, but it's a big, big deal in a 10-year-old who may never develop the cognitive maturity to do any of those things if their developing brain is starved of building blocks. Biology likes to use one ingredient for multiple purposes, and androgens have cognitive effects in both sexes. Justifying puberty blockade for 6 months so a 9-year-old doesn't freebleed all over her field trip to the zoo is one thing- that's called mitigating risk, and early puberty increases a woman's breast cancer risk later in life- but years of blocked hormones, especially in women, is terra incognito.
 
Even if the brain development delay is just temporary, those teens are going to be emotionally behind everyone else as they learn to navigate experiencing reality as an adult. Classical non-troon case study is the 14-16 year old that gets fast tracked into a four year college.

Quite. Girls with precocious puberty are given it to hold off puberty to the normal window, ie they stop taking it at 11.
There is NO reason to think we can pause puberty and restart it (which is the reversibility claim) at later ages.
