The repeated Radahn rants from Phil is kinda funny because it really highlights how much he relies on drama and toxicity, despite trying to rebrand himself as a chill and positive streamer. I admit I haven't watched any Elden Ring streams, but based on the general internet reaction, it seems like a lot of people are enjoying the game and having fun with it. I imagine other streamers are having the same experience, enjoying the game with the fans, exploring the world and doing the boss fights and having an all around good time.
Then you have Phil. Even when he's playing a good game, he has to find something to start drama about so he can go on long rants. If it were anyone else, I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and assume their tweet was weirdly hyperbolic, but it seems like Phil is really pushing this "outraged" angle and trying to act like the devs really messed up and ruined the game. Again, I haven't really seen any Elden Ring content so maybe I'm missing something, but at worst I've seen people say it was an unnecessary nerf but that's the extent of it. Phil is acting like he missed out on getting to witness some historical, world changing event.
I'm sure if he really wanted to play the original bossfight, there's got to be a way to downpatch the game to do the fight, then re-apply the patch for the rest of the game. But of course, it isn't about that, just Phil looking for another reason to keep up the dated angry video gamer gimmick, while also getting to briefly LARP as some superchad uber gamer who is "disappointed" they can't do a tough fight, despite constantly bitching about how unfair boss fights are in the first place.
Switching gears to the tax thing, I think this is just another example of Phil's autistic schedule. Back in the day when Phil was more inclined to take days off, he usually used his taxes as an excuse to fuck off for a staycation. He doesn't really do the random days off anymore, but I think he got so used to taking time off for taxes, he's continuing to do it because he's so against any changes to his schedule.
